READ ALL ABOUT SCHOOL!
Good morning. I hope you are enjoying all the white stuff coming down!
This week the 7th and 8th grade Ski Trips are happening. All students have the chance
to go to Snowhaven for the day. Students need to bring all their gear to school that
morning, and the busses will return by 4:20 p.m.

MS Band travels to Jazz Fest (Moscow/UI) on Wed.-Thurs., Feb. 19-20. We will NOT stay overnight.
Permission slips for Middle School Band Jazz Festival will go home Monday, due back immediately: St.
P&P will be gone from Wed. on, volleyball and ski trips will interrupt 7th period and the next weekend is 3day. Please return permission slips Tues., Feb. 11.
Next practice card is due Tues., Feb. 18.

1st hour social studies, 6th grade: This week we will be working on drawing a map of the
United States and learning the capitals of the fifty states. Students are welcome to work on this
in the classroom and at home.
2nd hour reading, 6th grade: We will continue reading The Winter Room together in
class. Two days this week we will be typing in the computer room. Students should be near
40% of their Accelerated Reader goal.
3rd hour PE / Health, 8th grade:
In health we will be reading “Maintaining a Healthy
Weight” on pages 131 – 135 and answering #1 – 5 on page 135. On Wednesday we will be
having Second Step. In PE we will be playing volley ball and running the PACER test on
Thursday. On Friday we will be headed to Snowhaven to have a day on the hill.
4th hour PE / Health, 7th grade: In health we will be reading “Using Medicines Responsibly”
on pages 159 – 162 and answering #1 – 5 on page 162. On Wednesday we will be having
Second Step. In PE we will be playing volley ball and running the PACER test on
Thursday. On Friday we will be headed to Snowhaven to have a day on the hill.
5th hour, Study Skills, PE, 6th grade: On Monday we will be having an Honor Roll Assembly
beginning at 12:30. On Tuesday we will be playing volley ball. Second Step will be on
Wednesday. Thursday we will be running the PACER test. On Friday we will be playing volley
ball.
7th hour, Reading, 6th grade: We will continue reading The Winter Room together in

Parents, please remember that these are plans written at the end of the preceding week
and sometimes things change in a classroom and plans are altered. These are not carved in
stone.

Wednesday— correct ws, film
Thursday— section 3 go over terms and begin reading
Friday—, quiz—states and capitals of the South
Reading and Keyboarding: Students are required to bring their AR book on a daily
basis—After practice sheet is finished they are expected to read.
Homework—30 minutes reading time each night. This quarter students are divided into
small groups and have chosen novels to read and discuss among themselves. The y will do
a power point project on the book during computer time and present it to the class. This
will account for a large part of their grade. They are not graded as a group but
individually. They are required to take test on the books they have chosen.

3rd quarter. They will be responsible for about 3 chapters a week and a set of
questions for each group of chapters. They will also have time in their LA
classes to read and may use the AR points (10) in LA towards their AR goal.
