The All India Service (PAR) Rules, 2007-annual
medical check-up for IAS officers-reg.
As per the All India Service (Performance Appraisal Report (PAR)) Rules,
2007, annual health check-up is mandatory for all IAS above the age of 40 and
may be totally dispensed with for, officers below the age of40 except in case of
medical incident. The proforma .fot health check-up of IAS officers is given in
Form-IV of the said rules. A copy of the summary of health check-report in Part
"C" of Form-IV is to be attached to the Performance Appraisal Report.
The issue relating to Annual Medkal check-up for IAS officers has been
examined in consultation with Health & Family Welfare Department and Finance
Department. The Health & Family Welfare Department has identified a list of .
. Private Hospitals which have agreed to conduct all the ~edical tests as prescribed
in the health check-up proforma at Rs.ISOOI- per officer. In additional to the
package charge at Rs.15001- per officer, the private hospitals approved by the
.Health Ministry shall also conduct ECHO/TMT Test or both for an additional
charge ofRsAOOI- each, if the consulting physician advises to this effect. The rates
of special package have been fixed in consultation.with Health & Family Welfare
Department and Finance Department on par with Government of India

subsequent related orders issued by Department of Personnel & Training. In the
circumstances the following orders are issued in connection with the annual health
check-up of IAS officers.
GOVERNMENT ORDER No. DPAR 115 SIS 2008,
BANGALORE, DATED 1.7.2008.
In the circumstances explained in the preamble, Government directs that the
IAS officers who are required to undergo annual health check-up, as per the
provisions of the .All India Service (Performance Appraisal Reports) Rules, 2007,
may get their health check-up done in any of the Government hospitals, where
there are facilities available for the purpose. The officers may also get their heal'l:h
check-up done in any of the private hospitals listed in the Annexure to this order.
The officers shall be entitled to a reimbursement of Rs.15001- for the medical
check-up in private hospitals. They shall also be entitled for reimbursement of an
additional amount RsAOOI- each, in case they have to undergo ECHO/TMT Test
or both as per the advice of the physician conducting the medical test. This shall
be on reimbursement basis and the officers are entitled to such reimbursement in
the same manner as they are entitled to for reimbursement of medical expenses
incurred. The officers who have already undergone health check-up during this
year may also avail reimbursement under this order.
This issues with the concurrence of Health & Family Welfare Department
& Finance Department vide their U.O.Notes No.~w0v' 136 ~~'Cl 2008(~). dated
30.6.2008 and No e''Cl 614 (Q'e-l/08, dated 18.6.2008 respectively.
