600 MICRO SPRINT RULES
ALL GENERAL TRACK RULES APPLY.
All drivers must be 12 years of age. Drivers under the age of 18 must have copy of birth certificate or drivers
license and release forms, signed by both parents, on file before being able to compete.
Chassis
Sprint car style cage and chassis is required. Constructed of, 1 inch .090, 1.125 inch 065 or 1.25inch .065
Chrome molly tube or equivalent. Must have a minimum of 4 uprights on cage per side, and have sufficient fore
and aft bracing. Driver must exit out the side of car. Frame width 26” maximum, length 85” maximum.
Must have a full floor pan from front of seat forward past the pedals. Must have a metal firewall between the
driver and the engine of 24-gauge steel or .0625 aluminum.
Side nerf bars are required which will extended to within 2” of the outside of the rear tire but not beyond the rear
tire. Front and rear bumpers are required and shall be at least as wide as the outside edge of the tires.
Sprint Car style bodies required, must be neat in appearance, and can be constructed from aluminum, fiberglass,
or carbon fiber. Plastic must NOT be used for any interior panels.
General
The wheelbase must be at least 58 inches and not more than 70 inches.
Maximum width will be 65 inches measured outside to outside of the rear tires.
Wings
Top Wings: Single plane, square or rectangular top wing with a minimum size of 10 sq ft and maximum size of
16 sq ft is required. Maximum dimensions of each side panel are 54 ¼ X 26 ¼. Panels must be perpendicular
to the airfoil. The top wing must not extend beyond the outside of the rear tires, or behind the rear bumper.
Nose Wings; Single plane, square or rectangular nose wings with a maximum size of 4sq ft are allowed. Nose
wing must not extend beyond the outside of the front tires, or beyond the front bumper. Maximum dimensions of
each side panel are 10 ¼X 24 ½. Panels must be parallel
Steering and Suspension
A quick release type steering wheel is mandatory, and no plastic components can be used. Titanium or
composite front axles, rear axles, steering arms and torsion arms are not allowed
Can be torsion bar or coil over any combination of the two. Shock absorbers may have two external adjustments
that may be adjusted by manual methods only. NO cockpit adjusters are allowed.
Engine
Engine must be a Production 4 cylinder, 4 stroke, in line 600CC motorcycle engine, with the engine transmission
and clutch housed as a single unit. No current year engines. Titanium may only be used IF the part comes stock
on the production bike. Must be chain driven. A chain guard must be in place on all cars, made of .090 aluminum
minimum.
Engine (Cont)
A maximum of 600cc for engine models that are 2007 and newer. All 2006 and older engines can have a
maximum of 636cc. Engine model is defined by the manufacturer of the engine.
Stock stroke only. No machining to remove weight from the crankshafts. (No after-market cranks) Balancing is
permitted. Dry sumps are not allowed unless OE. for the engine you are running.
Transmission
Transmission must be stock, no close-ratio gears or non-standard gear ratios. All gears must remain in
transmission, no removing any gears. The clutch does not need to remain stock but must remain operable.
Induction
No mechanically forced induction (turbo charging, or super charging)
Carburetors may be used on any engine,
Mechanical or electronic fuel injection may be used on any engine.
Exhaust
Exhaust system must be designed to minimize fire hazard, or hazards to other drivers. Mufflers are required and
each exhaust pipe shall be equipped in such a manner to reduce noise levels to acceptable levels.
Battery and Electrical
Factory stock or readily available after market ignition allowed.
Battery must be securely fastened. Wet cell batteries mounted inside the car must be covered and vented outside
the cockpit.
Car must be self-starting.
On/Off Switches must be on the dash.
Traction Control
Traction control of any kind is strictly forbidden. Any device that extends the factory preset rev limit for whatever
make or model engine being used is strictly forbidden. No use of any logic processor to control any function of
the race car is allowed. All electronics must be fully accessible for technical inspector. No hidden items.
Brakes
The car must be equipped with a functional braking system.
Steel or aluminum brake rotors only. Carbon, carbon composite, titanium, or unobtainium brake components
are PROHIBITED. Brake pad material is open.
Wheels
Rim diameter must be 10 inches.
Right rear wheel width will be a maximum of 14 inches.
Left rear wheel width will be a maximum of 10 inches.
Tires
Tires may be Hoosier or American Racer any compound on front and left rear.
Right rear; Hoosier Tire D-20 is required on the right rear for regular race programs.
Absolutely NO tire softening agents of any kind allowed.
Can groove or siping tires.
Fuel Systems
All fuel cells, bladders or plastic tanks must be mounted securely to the frame.
with a fuel cell and tail tank. Vent valve must be rollover type with valve.
All cars should be equipped
Fuel
Alcohol or race fuel may be used. No additives of any type allowed, except top end lubricants
Car Numbers
Car numbers must be a minimum of 12” high and on both sides of top wing.
Number must also be on each side of the tail section a minimum of 10inches high.
Mirrors are prohibited.
Radios
Any in-car 2 way communication device is prohibited. A SW1600 model Raceciever, tuned to channel 0000
(454.000) is recommended.
Safety
Helmet should be SNELL 05 or newer. Flame retardant driving suit is required.
5 point racing style harness with metal-to-metal, quick release connections, no older than 5 years is required.
Arm restraints or nets are required. Neck brace or helmet restraints are required.
Racing style shoes and gloves recommended. Headrest support on right side is strongly recommended
Weight
Cars must weigh a minimum of 800 pounds with driver, at any time.
Any open motor car ,wishing to try racing at ERS , on a limited basis must weight 900lbs. Weight penality is
subject to change.
Any added weight must be solid metal stock and must be bolted in a secure fashion to the chassis only. Any
weight must be painted white and have the car number clearly and legibly marked on each piece for ID purposes.
Continuous developments in racing may necessitate changes that we cannot anticipate at the time the rules
are formulated. We may, if necessary, update, modify, or add to these rules during the season. The "except
in rare instances" (EIRI) rule is applicable and in effect at all times. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED
WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION Of SPECIFICATIONS.
