Dear Mr. Warburg:
Your telegram to Mr.Wissmann created mixed feelings among
Joint supporters here. In one way we do appreciate the gentleman-like attitude of Joint, not to interfere in local discus sions regarding campaign allocations. On the other hand the Jewish Agency and the Keren Hajessod flo interfere to the utmost.
They are giving orders to campaign committees, Zionist organi zations and communities at large, to eliminate Joint from the
Latin American scene.
The Agency in cooperation with Magbit are determined to
controle, direct and dominate the entire Jewish communal life
in South America and the first important step in this direction
is the elimination of all non-pure Zionist organizations from
the campaigns.
During the past five years your director Rabbi Lomnitz obtained important personalities of highest standing, also valuable
Zionist leaders, and big givers to serve on the Camites Auxillares of Joint. The benevolent activities of this great organization are close to our hearts and if it would hot be for the tireless efforts of Rabbi Lomnitz and of all of us who support him
with all our might, Joint would not have received a single penny
from these parts of the world.
We think it absolutely unfair and unjust that the Zionist
agencies are bombarding us with strong demands through cables,
letters and visits after visits of not always desirable personalities, while the great Joint offices are quiet when the communities are being told that Joint's work has become unimportant.

We think it high time that Joint New York too should DEMAND
a just proportion of its campaign shares, just as the others are
doing their Demanding and Ordering from Israel.
We are standing up against fanatios and we are supporting
Rabbi Lomnitz because we are convinced of his sinoerity and honesty. In all South American Jewish communities you will find
persons who feel as we do; and if we are not always large in
numbers, our influenoe should not be underestimated. We are
fighting together with your director against Nmanyw who don't
want to have Joint represented in Latin America and things could
be a lot better, if persons like yourself would demand from Israel representatives to be truthful regarding Joint and stop
forcing the Latin American Yishuvim to allocate their funds according to ORDERS from the Agency.
