“Signs” of the Times
from the Bible
Everyone is interested in “signs.” We still hear Christians speak of a
major event as a “sign of the times.” What does the Bible say about the
signs of the end times?
There are a couple of key Scriptures that
speak specifically to some of the more
spectacular signs in the end times.
Luke 21:25- “And there shall be signs in the
sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and
upon the earth distress of nations, with
perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;”
Acts 2:19-“And I will shew wonders in
heaven above, and signs in the earth
beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of
smoke:”
These are NOT the only verses to address
these signs, but they are two of the most
important. The quote from Acts 2 comes
from the book of Joel.
Everyone seems to want a sign, or proof.
Even in Jesus’ day, the Jew “required” a
sign of His Messiah-ship. Some have
determined that the blood moons we have
experienced are right from the book of Joel.
They may or may not be. There will be
many signs in the heavens yet to come. But
the truth is that a real believer in Jesus does
not NEED a sign that indicates He is about
to return and usher the world into the Great
Tribulation. Our “sign” is Jesus. When He
came the first time, it marked the beginning
of the end times. He set in motion events
that will culminate in His second return.
Resist the urge to be a sign seeker and
instead be a Jesus seeker.
It is Time to Upgrade…
The church board of Wentzville First Assembly of God has been talking about some upgrades we
have been needing for some time. We will need some help. First, we are determined to install
our additional platform LED lights. Second, the sound boards need to go up in the sanctuary.
Third, we want to tackle the lobby and make some positive changes including lighting, a new and
smaller lobby greeters table, nursery speakers, and a few other items. Some of these items will
cost money, and some will require some volunteer help to get them done. You will like the
outcome. So pray with us about these upgrades, and be generous if an offering is received.

DRIVE T HROUGH PRAYER OUTREACH
On Saturday, October 1, we had our
second Drive Through Prayer. It was a
bit more challenging because of the
Wentzville high school Homecoming
parade which came through town at the
same time. But the Lord helped us. It
is a privilege to minister to people in
any situation. Thanks to all who made time to help
with this important evet.

Spirit is the one who provides the power for a person to break
free of sinful habits.

DIFFERENT PEOPLE have been asked these past few weeks,
“Have you been on the website of Wentzville First Assembly of
God?” Most of the time the answer was “No.” Many God
seekers and church shoppers will go to a website first to check
out what they can before they go visit a church. But the website
is also for the family of God. It has up-to-date calendar info
about upcoming events. It contains a blog posts from the pastor.
It has photographs of church and school events. It has a link to
the latest church newsletter in case you end up not having one
where you are. It has a link for Wentzville Christian School
information. It also has a link for online giving in case you can’t
get to church. If you become familiar with it, and use it, then it
becomes easier to refer people outside of the church to the
website for the latest information. So check out the church
website at www.wentzvillefirst.com, and become a frequent flier
on the site.

THIS PAST TUESDAY,
September 27, Wentzville
Christian School held its weekly
chapel gathering. This time we
had the entire gathering
OUTSIDE! It was such a
perfect day! The message was
based on Galatians 5:1- “Stand
fast therefore in the liberty
wherewith Christ hath made us
free, and be not entangled
again with the yoke of bondage.”
A man named Samuel Johnson said
back in the 1700’s, that “A habit is
too weak to be felt until it is too
strong to be broken.” The same
can be said of sin. So, to illustrate
the point, each student had their
hands and arms wrapped with a full roll of bathroom paper,
which is so thin it can easily be broken. But when wrapped
up in a lot of it, breaking it takes more effort. For those who
could not break free of the paper, we poured water on the

Sunday, November 13th
As of today, the BGMC Men Vs Women contest is a mere 6 Sunday’s away.
That is just over one month! We have used this major contest as our final
fundraiser of the year for BGMC.
Year-to-date, our church has brought in approximately $5,500.00 toward our
$7,700.00 goal. Do the math. We need about $2,200.00 to finish off our
2016 goal. On October 9 we will receive our monthly barrel offering.
After that, can the Men Vs Women contest accomplish the rest?
We have done so well this year with BGMC.
But here is a bit of information that hopefully will encourage you.
In the past 8 years, Wentzville First Assembly of God has provided BGMC
with over $48,000 in mission’s money. This number does NOT include our
regular missions giving to A/G and independent missionaries. This is just
BGMC!
This a AMAZING!!!
So what can the men and boys, the women and girls do by November 13 to
push our giving up to or even beyond $7,700.00?
