Carlos Ariel Amoedo.
Born in Mendoza Argentina, Ariel studied clarinet in a local music institute from the age of
14. At 18 he embarked on studying for a music degree in Clarinet at the National University
of Cuyo and from there he began to play the Saxophone under the instruction of Ricardo
Guiñazú with whom he studied Jazz and improvisation. In Mendoza, Ariel played with
numerous bands participating in blues and music festivals both locally and also Melipilla in
Chile, whilst also spent some time working as a session musician. At 23 Ariel met his wife
and moved to Spain where he spent several years bringing Jazz music to the bars and
restaurants of the Costa tropical in Granada. Whilst there he also had the opportunity to
share a stage with the likes of Paul Lockey (The Foundations), Ian Heron (sound technician
to Sting), Derek Austin and Paul Carrack (Mike + the Mechanics) and also spent
time working on a project with Patricia Harnold, known as PP Harnold, (vocalist,
and previously a backing singer for Tina Turner).
Ariel moved to the Isle of Man in 2015 and is delighted to have embarked on his first
residential project here at Coast Bar and Brasserie.
Enjoy the evening.
