Product Description:
Properly matured, sound apple slices packed in water. Prepared in accordance with Good
Manufacturing Practices, CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS, Title 21, Part 110 at Knouse Foods,
Inc facilities located in Peach Glen, PA or Biglerville, PA. The apples are peeled, cored, sliced, and
carefully inspected; followed by vacuumization and steam blanching to inactivate oxidative enzymes,
tenderize the fruit, and stabilize it against shrinkage when further cooked or frozen. The hot slices are
filled into washed containers and topped with water. After the cans are sealed, the product is processed at
a temperature and time adequate to assure commercial sterility and then cooled in chlorinated cold water.
Knouse Foods products are packed under the supervision of the Union of Orthodox Jewish
Congregations and are certified as kosher when bearing the
symbol on the label in accordance with a
UOJC signed agreement.
