What can you find out about Anne’s family
and her childhood?
Write some ‘knock-knock’ or ‘what do you
call a …’ jokes about grisly Tudor facts.
Present a jester-style , stand up performance for the class.
Create a Tudor fact file about all of the
wives of Henry VIII.
Research the changes in the church while
Henry was king. Visit Roche Abbey and
report on your findings.

Tudor times were a period of sea voyages
and global exploration . Find the names of
some of the famous explorers and the products they brought back to England.

Measure the vital statistics of members of
your family. Try to compare smaller members to adults or grandparents..

Autumn Term 1
Our topic this half term is about the Tudors .
What sort of man would order the beheading of his wife?
Find out what crimes the Queen was accused of and take
part in a world famous trial.

Our chosen novel for this half term is ‘Anne Boleyn
and me’ by Alison Prince. We will read it as a class
and find out about life as a member of the court of
King Henry VIII.

The class will work with staff from the Academy who will concentrate on invasion
games.
We will also try to learn and create Tudor
Music
We will also use Tudor music to dance
along to.
We will look at how to write a biography and how
they differ from autobiographies.
As the book we are studying is written in the form of
a diary, we will attempt to write diary extracts of our
own.
We will look at the layout and language used in
newspapers and have a go at writing a report in a
journalistic style.

As the main focus for our topic is history,
we will look at timelines, family trees and
fact files about the Tudor dynasty. We will
touch on the lives of rich and poor people

In PHSE we will look at a topic entitled
‘Rules, rights and responsibilities’ where we
will look at how we live our lives at school
Art and DT
We will look at the portraits of Hans Holbein
and attempt to create versions of our own.
