Do I have to buy this medical equipment?
In your 2016 Summer Financial Aid from MSU, you have received an additional
$1,200.00 to purchase this required medical equipment, before Fall Semester 2016.
You may also use a friends or family members, but it is best to have your own
equipment.

Do I have to bring it with me to lab every week?
Yes, bring your equipment every week to lab. Competence in use of the equipment will
make a better doctor.

Why do I need this?
To effectively learn the skills needed to gather data from physical examination.

Recommendation - I would encourage students not to purchase the small diagnostic kit. It is more
difficult to use as a beginner. The Welch Allen diagnostic kit with the silver handle is my favorite
because it can use both the rechargeable batteries and disposable batteries. This way a student
can carry two C cell batteries and not worry about how long the rechargeable battery will last.
