Summer Work Hours
Work Week
June 20 - August 12, 2016*
In an effort to save utilities and facility maintenance costs, the BCIU will be closed on
Fridays during the summer with extended hours expected for staff Monday through
Thursday. *The number of weeks has been shortened by one week in order to provide
additional time needed for Opening Day (August 22nd) and School Year final preparations.
 Work hours for the summer will be 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through
Thursday, June 20 - August 11, 2016. Normal office hours (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM) will
resume on Monday, August 15, 2016.
 All 705 staff are expected to arrange their work week to have core office hours from
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.
 The 705 building location will be closed on Fridays (except for Friday, July 8, 15,
22 and 29 when the Transportation, Facilities and Early Childhood Services Departments
will be open with partial staff coverage only.) Staff from Transportation, Facilities and
Early Childhood Services who work these four Fridays are expected to take the following
Monday off.
 The equivalent of 1.25 days will be charged for all vacation, sick or personal time
taken during this time period.
 All Supervisors are expected to be able to be reached on their cell phones on Fridays and
are expected to respond to any supervisory need during this period.
