Current Opportunity – AVP, Controller

The AVP, Controller will be responsible for directing/managing the Accounting staff including: hiring, training,
employee relations and performance evaluations. Manage the daily financial accuracy of the general ledger,
accounts payable, cash disbursements, fixed assets, etc. Participate in the development and implementation of the
Bank’s budget. Monitor ongoing performance and recommends budgetary revisions. Prepare various budget
reports and re-forecasts.
Additional Responsibilities:






Facilitate successful execution of monthly and quarterly closing of the Bank’s financials; providing technical
direction, assistance and problem resolution to departmental personnel. Insure accuracy of financial statements
and reports.
Develop and implement accounting controls, policies and procedures. Communicate changes throughout the
organization and insure standards/procedures are followed. Seek to streamline departmental processes and build
efficiencies to improve productivity.
Assist in managing the Bank’s liquidity and asset/liability position. Accurately maintain the model.
Prepare/maintain/file various internal and external reports in accordance with applicable regulatory and
accounting principles and guidelines. Stay abreast of all regulatory, industry and accounting changes (e.g., FILs,
ASUs).
Serve on a variety of committees (e.g., ALCO, rate) providing financial/accounting insight.
Demonstrate continual learning by attending industry seminars, webinars and other training programs. Insure
licenses are properly maintained and continuing education credits (CEUs) are attained.
Position Requirements:
 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred. Three plus (3+) years’




experience in accounting with emphasis on banking sector.
Strong knowledge of financial institution regulations including: SOX, FDICIA, SEC reporting and GAAP
knowledge. Ability to analyze financial data, as well as prepare financial statements, reports and projections.
Demonstrated skills in short/long-term budgeting and forecasting, including profitability analysis.
Supervisory/management experience and knowledge of current automated financial and accounting reporting
systems.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
