Historical Sketch
The McNeese State University Faculty Council (later called the Faculty Senate) began in 1973 as
a way for the MSU faculty to communicate its wishes with the McNeese administration. The
Senate meets on the first Wednesday of September, October, November, December, February,
March, April, and May.
Scope and Content Note
The McNeese State University Faculty Council/Faculty Senate Records consist of the
organizational materials, Presidents’ papers, correspondence, and notes; agendas; and minutes of
the organization. The records are arranged chronologically.
