Talk about rules and boundaries for

happy, say, angry etc. Do they
notice what happens to their body
when they feel cross? Do they get a
knot in their tummy? What can they
do when they feel like this?

Listen to range of music with your child and
help them to imagine what story the music
may be telling.
Geography
Talk about different places you have
visited in the UK. How are they the same
and how are they different to Braunton.
Talk about other countries you or others
may have visited. Look at photographs
or different environments and talk
about similarities and differences.

Read daily with your child. Let them read to you and also read them a
bedtime story. Complete your child’s reading record/support them to
complete it.
Support your child to learn the spellings sent home weekly and
encourage writing lists, letters and other notes or stories.
Collect magazines and colourful
supplements from newspapers for
collaging.

Practice counting daily.
Support your child to buy items themselves in shops
using coins. Help them to learn to recognise different
coins. Let them add up the pennies in your change jar.

Help your child to follow basic instructions such as
recipes or instructions for a new game or toy – eg model
kits etc.
Monitor your child’s online activity and talk to them
about staying safe on line.
Science
Talk about how you have changed since you were a baby.
What can you do now, that you could not do when you were
a baby? What else changes as you grow older?
Notice and name animals and birds that you see when you
are out and about.
