Job Description
Title: Machine Shop Supervisor
Reports To: Production Foreman
Work Location: Machine/Fabrication Shop
Job Summary
The position serves as a focal point of all machining operations within the company and
requires coordination of work with other departmental supervisors, machinists, sub-contractors,
engineering and management to ensure timely delivery of quality parts.
Requirements and Responsibilities
Minimum 5-7 years experience with operation of 3 and 4 axis CNC Machines, tool setup, editing and inspection in prototype and production environments
Minimum 2-3 year experience managing schedules, workflow, safety, personnel and
equipment
Experience with software application such as Visual Mill
Experience with planning, estimating and reporting
Ability to set up, program, operate and troubleshoot CNC lathes and mills independently
Clean, repair and perform preventive maintenance on CNC machinery
Manage organization, safety and maintenance of the machine shop
Reduce set up time and machining time through process improvements.
Maintain all machine shop repair and maintenance records
Inspect completed work for conformance to specification using tools such as calipers,
height gauges, micrometers, rulers etc.

Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard
practices of the trade
Considerable knowledge of the maintenance and repair of machine shop tools and
equipment.
Needs a strong appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on time
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
20/20 Vision (either naturally or with correction)
Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands
Education
High School degree, diploma or a GED required
