more than 2,000 participating nonprofits as well as donors, businesses and other supporters across
the state.

WHY: Georgia Gives Day provides a special high-profile day each year to bring attention to the work
and worth of the nonprofit sector as a whole, which is key in making Georgia a great place to live,
work and play.

Founded in 2012, Georgia Gives Day is led by the Georgia Center for Nonprofits in collaboration with
a statewide coalition of supporters and volunteers.
Since inception, it has secured 41,000 donations and helped participants raise over $9 million.
On November 17, 2016, Georgia Gives Day will once again bring together donors, nonprofits,
businesses and others in a collaborative effort “For the Greater Good” – this year’s Georgia Gives
Day theme.
People across the state are encouraged to visit GAgivesday.org and “Click if You Care” to help
support nonprofits in their community and bring awareness to causes including the arts, animal
rescue, community building, education, the environment and more.
Nonprofits of all sizes can participate in Georgia Gives Day, which provides them with the opportunity
to share inspiration, amplify their message, reach new supporters, fuel their competitive spirit and
make a collective difference.
Georgia Gives Day offers businesses a non-traditional way to engage in corporate social
responsibility, energize their employees and build partnerships with a variety of nonprofits, opening
the door for year-round opportunities.

Georgia Gives Day is a unique, all-online fundraising initiative built for nonprofits and fueled by a large
statewide coalition of corporations and foundations, government officials, media partners and volunteers.
Beyond the very important dollars raised, Georgia Gives Day provides a special high-profile day each
year to bring attention of the work and worth of Georgia's nonprofit sector as a whole in making the state
a great place to live, work and play.
When is Georgia Gives Day?
Georgia Gives Day will take place on November 17, 2016, from midnight to midnight.
How does it work?
Georgia Gives Day makes donating easy by organizing thousands of nonprofits across the state onto
one website (GAgivesday.org), which provides the information people need to select a cause and
enables online donations by credit card or e-check.
How do people donate?
Visit www.GAgivesday.org, search and select the nonprofit of your choice, and make a donation via
credit card or e-check. Donors are then encouraged to share their support via Facebook, Twitter,
Pinterest or an outlet of their choice.
Can people only give on November 17th?
No. Although November 17th has been named Georgia Gives Day and the campaign will focus on this
day, the website GAgivesday.org will function as an ongoing, year-round giving platform.

Georgia Gives Day is a collaboration of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits in partnership with more than
2,000 participating nonprofits as well as corporations, associations, foundations and public relations and
advertising firms.
