Sacramental Day/ Día del Estudio Sacramental
Objective: The Pathways workshop for
Catechists provides two training sessions that
prepare new Catechists and Facilitators.
The Pathways offers participants new tools and
skills that can be used to facilitate catechesis
using strong introductory knowledge about
Church Doctrine.
Session
I
As a requirement,
the Catechist must receive
three hours of continuous formation each year.
The Vocation of the Catechist
- Opening Prayer: What does it mean to
be a Catechist?
The Creed
- Apostles Creed and Nicene Creed:
What are the differences and
similarities?
- The Apostles Creed and Nicene Creed
according to Scripture and Tradition.
- What does the Creed mean to us as
Catholic Christians?
Introduction to Sacred Scriptures
- What is the Old Testament? Origin and
Etymology.
- What is the New Testament? Origin and
Etymology.
- What do Sacred Scriptures mean to us
as Catholic Christians?
Session II

A Brief Journey through the
Sacraments
- Brief Explanation of the Sacraments
and their history.
Facilitatorship Module
- Catechetical
Praxis:
How
to
successfully facilitate a catechetical
presentation.
- Parish trials: How to transform
catechetical presentation into a
dynamic model.
- Collective feedback: How to facilitate
effectively through shared leadership.
Objetivo: El Pathways para catequistas consta de
dos sesiones de entrenamientos para formar a los
nuevos catequistas y facilitadores de grupos. El
Pathways ayuda a los participantes a tener nuevas
herramientas y habilidades. También, se les
introduce en la doctrina de la Iglesia. La diócesis
requiere tres horas de formación continua cada año.

- Praxis Catequética: ¿Cómo hacer una
presentación catequética con éxito?
- Prueba Parroquial: ¿Cómo transformar
una presentación catequética de modo
dinámico?
- Recoger Retroalimentación: ¿Cómo
facilitar eficazmente y compartir
liderazgo?
