Coach-Parent Conduct Conference
!
1. Disrespectfully addressing officials and showing resentment toward decisions and violations of the rules
should not occur even though an official may make an error. Coaches, participants and spectators must
realize there is no game in which coaches and players do not also make errors.
2. No one would tolerate poor sportsmanship toward the coach or players because of this. In the same
regard, everyone must show respect toward game officials.
3. Coaches, players, parents and fans that show disrespect to opposing players and officials are a liability
rather than an asset to the Pee Wee program.
4. The following are important items for good sportsmanship:
a. Courteous treatment of all officials, opposing players and fans.
b. Refraining from derogatory remarks addressed toward officials and players, taunting actions and
cheering decisions made by officials against opposing teams.
c. Graciously accepting the decisions of the officials against a team by refraining from making
unsportsmanlike comments, booing and jeering.
d. Be humble in victory and gracious in accepting defeat.
5. The action of a few individuals ruins the enjoyment for the majority of parents or fans that demonstrate
their approval and support when their team does something right, who suffer in silence when things go
wrong and who do not blame the officials for each loss.

GAME DAY GUIDELINES
1. Parking spots will be reserved for all officials. If 2 or 3 games at a site, 3 spots (1
crew). If more than 3 games, 6 parking spots (2 crews) are required. This will
eliminate the 2nd crew of officials having to park a distance from the field.
2. It is RECOMMENDED the HOME team game manager meet the officials at their
parking spots and required to keep parking available for the 2nd crew (if applicable).
3. The VISITING game manager will introduce themselves to the home team game
manager, and to the officials. IT is recommended that this be done before officials
meet with the head coaches. If it is not done before the meeting with the coach, the
officials will ask head coach for their game manager and the game will not start until
introduction of game manager and the Referee knows the game manager is aware of
their responsibility.
4. IT is recommended (or if requested by the Referee) that the game managers (HOME
and VISITOR) will check with the officials at halftime for any possible problems.
5. After the game, if requested by the officials, the game manager will walk with the
officials to their cars and stay with them until the officials have driven away.
GAME MANAGER DUTIES
1. Assist the head coach in keeping sideline control in conformance with the Pee Wee code
of Conduct. Request, coaches, parents and fans not conforming to the Pee Wee Code of
Conduct, to leave the game site. Ensure that any Coach, parent, or fan that is ejected
leaves the field. Call 911 as required to remove any coach, parent or fan from the field.
Note the name(s) of the coach, parent or fan, and forward to Central Council and the
Peninsula Football Officials Association (PFOA)
2. Assist the game referee as requested, either directly or via the head coach. Ensure no
coach accosts any official before, during or after any game. Note the name(s) of any
person attempting to do so and forward to Central Council and PFOA
3. Game managers shall not engage in any conduct that violates the spirit, intent or the
written word of the Pew Wee code of Conduct. Game managers walk the sideline and set
a good example for all parents and fans

Concussion Information Sheet
A concussion is a brain injury and all brain injuries are serious. They are caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the
head, or by a blow to another part of the body with the force transmitted to the head. They can range from mild
to severe and can disrupt the way the brain normally works. Even though most concussions are mild, all
concussions are potentially serious and may result in complications including prolonged brain damage
and death if not recognized and managed properly. In other words, even a “ding” or a bump on the head can
be serious. You can’t see a concussion and most sports concussions occur without loss of consciousness. Signs
and symptoms of concussion may show up right after the injury or can take hours or days to fully appear. If
your child reports any symptoms of concussion, or if you notice the symptoms or signs of concussion yourself,
seek medical attention right away.

Concussion Management Pamphlet
What can happen if my child keeps on playing with a concussion or returns too soon?
Athletes with the signs and symptoms of concussion should be removed from play immediately. Continuing to
play with the signs and symptoms of a concussion leaves the young athlete especially vulnerable to greater
injury. There is an increased risk of significant damage from a concussion for a period of time after that
concussion occurs, particularly if the athlete suffers another concussion before completely recovering from the
first one. This can lead to prolonged recovery, or even to severe brain swelling (second impact syndrome) with
devastating and even fatal consequences. It is well known that adolescent or teenage athletes will often fail to
report symptoms of injuries. Concussions are no different. As a result, education of administrators, coaches,
parents and students is the key to student-athlete’s safety.
If you think your child has suffered a concussion
Any athlete even suspected of suffering a concussion should be removed from the game or practice
immediately. No athlete may return to activity after an apparent head injury or concussion, regardless of how
mild it seems or how quickly symptoms clear, without medical clearance. Close observation of the athlete
should continue for several hours. The new “Zackery Lystedt Law” in Washington now requires the consistent
and uniform implementation of long and well-established return-to-play concussion guidelines that have been
recommended for several years:
“a youth athlete who is suspected of sustaining a concussion or head injury in a practice or game shall be
removed from competition at that time”
and
“...may not return to play until the athlete is evaluated by a licensed heath care provider trained in the
evaluation and management of concussion and received written clearance to return to play from that
health care provider”.
You should also inform your child’s coach if you think that your child may have a concussion. Remember it’s
better to miss one game than miss the whole season. And when in doubt, the athlete sits out.
RETURN TO PARTICIPATION PROTOCOL
If you child has been diagnosed with a concussion they MUST follow a progressive return to participation protocol
(under the supervision of an approved health care provider) before full participation is authorized.
The return to play protocol may not begin until the participant is no longer showing signs or symptoms of
concussion. Once symptom free, the athlete may begin a progressive return to play. This progression begins with
light aerobic exercise only to increase the heart rate (5-10 minutes of light jog or exercise bike) and progresses each
day as long as the child remains symptom free. If at any time symptoms return, the athlete is removed from
participation.
For current and up-to-date information on concussions you can go to http://www.cdc.gov/ConcussionInYouthSports/
