Welcome to Lomax!
Welcome to Friends and Family Day! This is a special day for us
that we have set aside to enjoy a time of worship and fellowship
together. I hope you will stay and eat with us after our morning
service and stay for our afternoon service at 1:00. After that service,
I hope you will use the rest of the day to enjoy some time with your
friends and family. Time is a precious resource and what better way
to spend it than worshiping God and fellowshipping with your
Christian friends and your family?
As usual you outdid yourselves last Sunday. Our contribution for
the Youth Fund stands at almost $7,000. If you were not here or
would like to make an additional contribution to the Youth Fund,
please see Bill Lawson today. Thank you for your generosity and the
way you demonstrate just how important our young people are to us
here at Lomax.
Please keep Mark Landis in your prayers as he travels to the
Marshall Islands for his final preparation trip. He and his entire
family plan to leave in late March to stay for a long term
commitment. We are excited to be sponsoring Dr. Landis and we
look forward to lots of good news coming from him about his work.
Don’t forget our annual Youth Rally March 18-19. It’s less than
six weeks away! Please be in prayer for the success of our Youth
Rally and be ready to help out as soon as you are asked. There is
work for everyone to do. Let’s be ready and willing to
help make our Youth Rally a success!

A special welcome to our guests!
We are glad to have you visiting with us today! You
are welcome here. We know you have a choice of where to
worship, and you chose to be with us today — thank you.
At Lomax we want to be the church we read about in
the Bible. Our goal is to glorify God with our worship and
with our lives and to point people to Jesus Christ.
If you need anything during the service, ushers in the
lobby can direct you to restrooms, the nursery, or a
telephone. Please do us the favor of filling out a blue card
located on the back of the pew in front of you. If you have
any questions or if we can help you, please let us know while
you are here or call 796-5381.

later part of March…..We plan to be attending the annual FHU Bible
lectures this Monday and Tuesday. Some folks are scheduled to stay the
entire week…The Primetimers’ annual May trip is already full unless
there is a later cancellation…..The following article came my way and is
thought provoking
When You Get To Where You Are Going
The story is told of an Army chaplain who was asked to preach at a
church miles from his army base. He took his family along but neglected
to tell his six year old daughter where they were going. After a few
miles on the road, she asked “Dad, when we get to where we’re going,
where will we be?” A good question that all need to ponder.
Paul told the Corinthians, “Examine yourselves
whether ye be in the faith, prove your own
selves…” (II Cor. 13:5). Let us think of our journey
of life. When we get to where we are going, where
will we be? How many goals will we have
accomplished? More importantly, what about our
spiritual life? Where will we be in five, ten, or
twenty years? The Lomax church had a great
planning session on the 29th. The elders carried us
into plans that might even include twenty years from
now and beyond. However, the emphasis was upon
the positive influence of every member. How much
do we plan to grow? What will our record of
contribution to the Lord’s cause reveal? Can they point to a positive
influence in our lives?

April Lynn Seiber
Our Spotlight this week
shines on April Lynn Seiber
and Addison Dudley.
April is a member of the
Tuesday/Thursday 4-year-old
class. She is the daughter of
Kenneth & Amy Seiber and
the granddaughter of Kenneth
& Sherri Seiber and Jeanette
Qualls. April likes to watch
Thomas the Train on
television and play with her
Thomas the Train toys.
Addison is a member of the
Monday/Wednesday 3-yearold class. She is the daughter
of Michael & Sonya Dudley
and the granddaughter of
Alton & Janet Marshall and
Bobby & Julia Dudley.
Addison likes to play with her
dolls and watch Dora the
Explorer and Barney.
Still more important is the subject of eternity. Since there are only two
possibilities (Matt. 25:46), where will we be when we get there? The
answer is in our hands (2 Thess. 1:8; Acts 2:37-47; Rev. 2:10)! -Adpt.
On The Lighter Side: Grandfather had a farm; father had a garden; son
had a can opener.
Sentence Sermon: Be still, sad heart, and cease repining for behind the
clouds is the sun still shining.

I ran across a very interesting story the other day and I wanted to
share it with you:
A congregation built a new church building and people came from
far and wide to see it.
They admired its beauty. Up on the roof, a little nail heard the people
praising everything about the lovely structure — except the nail. No
one even knew he was there, and he became angry and jealous. “If I am
that insignificant, nobody will miss me if I quit!” So the nail then
released its hold, slid down the roof, and fell in the mud.
Schedule of Services
That night it rained and rained. Soon, the shingle that had no nail

blew away, and the roof began to leak. The water streaked the walls

stained and the pulpit Bible was ruined by water. All this because a

little nail decided to quit! But what of the nail? While holding the

shingle, it was obscure but it was also useful. Buried in the mud it was

just as obscure, but now it was useless and would soon be eaten up by
rust!
The lesson of the story is clear. Every single member of The Lomax Messenger
the church is important. At times, you may feel rather
Published weekly by the
obscure and unnoticed, but that doesn’t make your place

an unimportant one. Just like that nail, your absence is felt. 320 Darbytown Road
When you are not present for worship, the body of Christ Hohenwald, TN 38462
is hurt by your absence. When you become a Christian,
you are added to the church and become a part of the body
of Christ. From that moment on, you have an important
part to play in the work of the Lord. Don’t be a quitter just
because you feel like you aren’t getting enough attention!
Your job is important and without you, things will be left
undone that should have been done. Without you, we will
all suffer. Worst of all, you will ultimately do the most
damage to yourself if you quit the church.
Serve the Lord with gladness!
-David
