CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
ALONZO – black and gold cat; brave, mischievous & flirtatious
ASPARAGUS – old and frail yet revered by other cats; had a career as an actor
BUSTOPHER JONES – remarkably fat; dines at many clubs; refined, cultured, stylish
GROWLTIGER – pirate cat; a role played by Asparagus in his younger days
BOMBALURINA – red cat with white chest & black spots; protective & loyal
CASSANDRA – mysterious and quiet
CORICOPAT – tabby with striped markings; believed to be psychic; partners with Tantomile
DEMETER – in the middle of all the action; kind; aware of Macavity’s whereabouts
ETCETERA – cute, energetic, bouncy, girlish & immature; a true kitten
GRIDDLEBONE – white, fluffy, Persian cat; works for the illusive Macavity
GRIZABELLA – very old & withered by age; used to be glamorous, proud and carefree; taunted by others who will not touch her
JELLYLORUM – name means “Lillie cat,” “wisdom,” or “tradition;” maternal
JEMIMA – wide-eyed, innocent, accepting and beautiful kitten; paired with Victoria
JENNYANYDOTS – old Gumbie cat who teaches mice music & crocheting; protective of kittens
MACAVITY – master criminal who is too clever to get caught; mysterious; “a fiend in feline shape, a monster of depravity”
MISTOFFELEES – mysterious yet flashy; is able to perform magic
MUNGOJERRIE – specializes in petty theft & mischief; clown-like and acrobatic; partners with Rumpleteazer
MUNKUSTRAP – narrator-type; second in command of the cats after Old Deuteronomy
OLD DEUTERONOMY – The leader of the Jellicles; an ancient, wise cat respected by other cats and humans
POUNCIVAL – brown, white, gray and black and has a lot of freckles; very athletic, gymnastic & energetic
RUM TUM TUGGER – rebel cat who cannot help but be difficult; a ladies’ cat and loves the limelight
RUMPLETEAZER - specializes in petty theft & mischief; clown-like and acrobatic; partners with Mungojerrie
SKIMPLESHANKS – energetic, Scottish orange tabby cat known as “the Railway Cat;” takes great pride in his work and knows the
train won’t operate without him
TANTOMILE – Tabby with striped markings; believed to be a psychic; partners with Coricopat
TUMBLEBRUTUS – playful and friendly kitten; acrobatic and gymnastic
VICTORIA – the white cat; beautiful and young; often paired with Jemima
CARBUKETTY, SILLABUB, QUAXO, MISTO, PLATO and many more!
Stage Mangers, Props Master, & Technicians roles will be cast from auditions.

AUDITION TIPS:
Please prepare for the vocal audition by listening to the original Broadway cast recording!
Sing clearly! We need to understand what you are singing, not just matching notes.
Don’t forget to act while you’re singing! As a through-sung musical, you must be able to express character,
physicality and emotion through the performance of the song.
No open-toed or loose shoes or bare feet allowed! You must be in dance shoes or tennis shoes for auditions.
Your hair must be out of your face!
You may bring a bottle of water – label it with your name.
