Dear All,
We have had another very evenul week at St Michaels. Yesterday we received
a visit from councillor Vince Maple who came to speak to our School Council
about such values as democracy, vo"ng, decision making etc. The children in
the council had already planned some ques"ons for him, he was really helpful
and thoroughly enjoyed his "me here.
The school took part in the first Medway Mini Youth Games event of the new
year : Tag Rugby. We did amazingly well coming 13th of 52 schools compe"ng.
The team was super, they worked really hard. This is due in no small part to the
excellent coaching the children received as part of our involvement in the
Greenacre Sports Partnership this year. Our next event is hockey so come on St
Michael’s, keep up the effort.
Next week we will be having our harvest fes"val. This will be on Wednesday
19th October for the infants with a mass and Thursday 20th October for the
juniors with an assembly in the hall. We have already sent communica"on out
to parents about this but to re iterate -if we could have dona"ons of non perishable food from Monday, all dona"ons will be given to Caring Hands in Chatham.

Parent evening is next Thursday from 3:45-8:30pm Thank you so much to all the
parents who have made their appointments using the school interviews website. This is much more efficient. If you have not already done so I would ask
you to make an appointment as soon as possible as places are going fast. I look
forward to seeing as many parents as possible there.

Congratulations to St Philips and St Pauls class who attained 100% attendance for the
week ending 7th October. This is AMAZING. They received a treat! Overall attendance
for last week was 97.85%, which is slightly better than last week. Well done everyone.
GENERAL
The standard of uniform has been exemplary this term and I thank all parents and
children for that. It is probably best to revert back to the winter uniform for the
girls from next term– no summer dresses please– shirt and ties. We have an amazing
supply of lost uniform however, mainly jumpers. Again it is impossible to return them
if items of uniform are not named. Please do this, a name written in biro will do!
Any unnamed uniform not claimed by the end of this term will be disposed of.
