Crossing the Empty Quarter
British explorer Mark Evans MBE from Outward Bound Oman

Mark, who previously kayaked the entire

journey of Bertram Thomas 85 years ago.
He was joined by two Omanis, Mohammed
Al Zadjali and Amour Al Wahaibi, as they
crossed the biggest sand desert on earth!
saw one sand snake and one scorpion.
Mark explained how they woke at 5 am in
temperatures of 0 degrees. During the day
the temperature reached mid twenties.

He lost sevens kgs over the course of the
trip.
They crossed Saudi Arabia and ended their
journey in Doha, met by the Crown Prince

Look out for the film released in September
in Vox cinema. The book will be released in
December.
His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said blessed
the journey as part of the 45th anniversary
celebrations of Oman. The journey started
on 10 December 2015 outside the royal
palace in Salalah with four female camels.
During the journey they saw striped
