310‐CCAC – BACKGROUNDER What is 310‐CCAC (2222)? 310‐CCAC (2222) is a new telephone information service provided by Community Care Access Centres (CCACs) across Ontario. It provides comprehensive, up‐to‐date information on home and community‐
based health services. No area code is required and the call is free. In addition to calling 310‐CCAC, Ontarians can visit www.310ccac.ca to search for health care services in their area. This robust website is backed by a comprehensive database that allows users to search for health information and resources, as well as locate their nearest CCAC, hospitals, long‐term care homes, pharmacies, and nursing stations on a map. Who is it for? 310‐CCAC (2222) is for everybody. But in the Central West area, we are making a special effort to promote the line to seniors, their families and those who provide them with care. We want to help seniors stay independent, healthy and in their homes longer. How does the service work? Live operators are available to answer questions from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Our staff members have access to a comprehensive database, so they can provide callers with information on all the available options. What services will 310‐CCAC (2222) help seniors access? We provide information on both government‐funded and for‐fee services. We can help seniors find services such as:  in‐home nursing care  help bathing and getting dressed  home safety assessments  meals delivered to their door  transportation  nutritional counselling  respite care for family caregivers ... and more. We provide callers with the information they need to make their own decisions. How will 310‐CCAC (2222) help care providers and other health professionals? It is impossible for most health service providers and health professionals to stay current on all the services available to seniors. Services, hours and costs change frequently. Our database is constantly updated, so it is a valuable resource for members of the public and health care practitioners alike.
