The House or the Tool Shed?
Start your visit in The House, where you’ll learn about simple machines.
Which Room? Garage, Bedroom, Kitchen, Bathroom
1. Click on a room to visit first ... you are required to visit at least
2 rooms, and you can visit the others if you have time.
2. The robot will give you directions, listen carefully, and then get started
finding the 10 simple machines hidden somewhere in the room.
3. Once you’ve found a simple machine, you will be asked questions. Do your
best because you will get a score at the end.

4. Use the attached EdHeads Simple Machine worksheet.
5. Fill out the first side as you work your way through 2 of the rooms.
I found all 10 simple machines, now what?
1. Record your score (out of 60) for each of the 2 rooms you visited.
2. On the website, type your first name, click on a grade range, and click
FINISH.
(The website is collecting information about who is visiting their site.)
3. Next, you’ll get a summary of your answers.
Go to the Tool Shed
After visiting 2 rooms in the house, visit the Tool Shed where you’ll learn about
compound machines.
1. After completing your tasks in 2 of the house rooms, click on the activity
home button.
2. Click on the Tool Shed
3. The robot will give you directions, listen carefully, and then get started
finding various simple machines located in the 4 compound machines.
4. On the back side of your worksheet, record the information you find out
about the components of compound machines.
5. Record your score (out of 65).
6. On the website, type your first name, click on a grade range, and click
FINISH.
7. Next, you’ll get a summary of your answers.
After visiting 2 rooms and the tool shed, click on The Odd Machine link below
to really test your simple machine knowledge.
