Bob Deutsch joined Hamilton Insurance Group as Chief Strategy Officer in July 2014 with
over 30 years’ experience in many aspects of the insurance business. In October 2015,
Bob assumed the role of Acting CEO, Hamilton USA.
Before joining Hamilton, he was Managing Director of GCP Capital Partners, starting in
February 2010. Previously, Bob was a founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Ironshore
Inc., an insurance company established with over $1 billion of equity capital. Prior to
the formation of Ironshore, Bob was an advisor to various companies and private equity
investors in the insurance industry.
From 1999 to 2004, Bob was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of CNA
Financial Corporation (NYSE: CNA). Before joining CNA, Bob was one of the founders of
Executive Risk (NYSE: ER, now part of The Chubb Corporation), where he was President of
its insurance subsidiaries, Chief Actuary and Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to joining Executive Risk in 1987, Bob worked for Swiss Re and Ernst & Young. He
is currently a Director of ClearView Risk Holdings, LLC (a wholesale broker), Wilton Re
Holdings Limited, Entitle Direct Group, Inc. and The Actuarial Foundation.
Bob has been a Director of the following companies: Beazley Furlong Limited (the
managing agency of Beazley plc (LSE: BEZ)), Enstar Holdings (US) Inc. (the US operations
of Enstar Group Limited (NASDAQ: ESGR)), Platinum Underwriters Holdings, Ltd. (NYSE:
PTP, now part of RenaissanceRe Holdings, Ltd.), Darwin Professional Underwriters, Inc.
(NYSE: DR, now part of Allied World Assurance Company Holdings), Chaucer Holdings

Bob is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, an Associate of the Society of
Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Kathleen Reardon

Kathleen Reardon is a member of the founding management team and has 20 years of
(re)insurance industry experience.
From November 2005 to October 2012, Kathleen served as Chief Underwriting Officer
SVP for ACE Tempest Re Bermuda’s International Property Catastrophe reinsurance
business. Prior to joining ACE Tempest Re, Kathleen worked from 2000 to 2005 at ACE
Financial Solutions International, first as AVP Underwriting and then as VP Underwriting.
Before moving to Bermuda, Kathleen held various actuarial roles at ACE USA following
ACE Limited’s acquisition of CIGNA’s P&C business in 1999. Kathleen began her career at
CIGNA in 1994 as an actuarial assistant.
Kathleen is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American
Academy of Actuaries. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Drexel
University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dermot O’Donohoe

Dermot O’Donohoe most recently held the position of Group CEO of global specialty
insurer Torus Group, where he oversaw the successful transition of Torus’ ownership to
Bermuda-based Enstar in 2014. Dermot joined Torus in 2009 and, until his departure in
mid 2014, held a variety of executive-level positions, including Global Head of Specialty
and CEO of Torus International.
From 1995 to 2009, Dermot was employed at XL Group in increasingly senior positions.
These included President and Chief Executive Officer, XL Europe; CEO, XL Insurance Co.
Ltd.; and CEO, XL London Market Ltd., the managing agency for Syndicate 1209. In this
role, Dermot was also Global Head of Specialty, which included the management of XL
Group’s global business in the marine, offshore energy, aviation, environmental liability, fine
art and specie lines of business.
Claude Lefebvre
Chief Underwriting Officer, Casualty & Specialty

Claude Lefebvre, a qualified actuary with expertise in both underwriting and reinsurance
broking, is a member of the founding management team. He has over 20 years’
experience in the reinsurance industry.
Claude’s reinsurance underwriting experience includes three years as Head of Casualty
Underwriting at Arch Reinsurance in Bermuda. He previously served as a Vice President
of CNA Re in Chicago where he worked for three years on Professional Lines and Excess
and Surplus business, and Vice President at London Life and Casualty Reinsurance
Company in Barbados where he underwrote structured reinsurance.
Claude gained his reinsurance broking experience at Guy Carpenter, both in Canada and
in the UK, where he served in progressively senior roles, ultimately as a Managing Director.
At Guy Carpenter, Claude was responsible for business development and enhancing the
analytical offering and the value proposition for clients.
Claude is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of
Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He holds a Bachelor’s
Degree in Biochemistry and a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Sciences from
Université Laval, Quebec.
Tim Duffin
Chief Underwriting Officer, Property

Tim Duffin has almost 20 years of reinsurance industry experience in the Bermuda and
London markets.
From June 2009 until October 2012, Tim was a property catastrophe underwriter at
Platinum Underwriters Bermuda, focusing on the US account and outwards retrocession
purchases. From October 1998 to May 2009, he worked as a broker for Aon in London
and Bermuda (from September 2004), where he was a part of the global
retrocession team.
Tim has an ACII designation from The Chartered Insurance Institute and a B.A. in English
Literature and Psychology from Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK.
Barbara Bufkin

Barbara’s tenure in the industry has included primary insurance, reinsurance and as a
reinsurance intermediary. Barbara joined Hamilton USA from Guy Carpenter where she
held the position of Chief Operating Officer, Global Strategic Advisory. Prior to joining
Guy Carpenter, she spent 12 years at Argo International Holdings as a member of the
executive team, leading corporate business development, growth strategies, corporate
risk and ceded reinsurance.
Barbara has also served as director of Swiss Re New Markets and as chairman, president
and chief executive officer of Swiss Re subsidiary Facility Insurance Holding Corporation.
Barbara attended Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, and holds a Bachelor of
Arts degree in philosophy, graduating cum laude from the State University of New York at
Buffalo. She is an alumna of Leadership Texas.
Barbara was nominated to the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame in 2000 and selected to the
2004 Class of Leadership America. In 2012, she was chosen as Insurance Woman of the
Year by the Association of Professional Insurance Women (APIW).
Ed Pulkstenis

Ed brings over 25 years of experience in commercial lines business to his position, most
recently at Harbor Point Consulting Partners, a firm he co-founded to provide consultative
advice regarding business strategy, business intelligence and other solutions to small
businesses, insurance distributors, carriers and other participants in the insurance market.
Prior to establishing Harbor Point Consulting Partners, Ed held executive positions in a
number of insurance companies, including Executive Vice President, Commercial Lines at
Tower Group Companies and Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer, Small
Commercial Business, at The Hartford Financial Services Group.
From 2000 to 2008, Ed was employed in increasingly senior positions at Selective
Insurance Group, holding the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting
Officer before leaving the company to join The Hartford.
Ed earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Messiah College in Grantham,
Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management
Program. He is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Fellow of the
Casualty Actuarial Society. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
designation and is a Certified Insurance Counselor.
