STREET. Copper, 510D-1a, R9, CONDITION: NGC XF-45
BN, VALUE: $18,500 NOTE: Best & Co’s Beer Hall
Milwaukee is listed in the original Fuld Civil War Token
Guide as Wisconsin Wisc Wis WI 510D-1a. While a long
standing debate rages if this was indeed made in the Civil War
era or if it was made later or, perhaps earlier one fact remains,
stedfast: This is likely the rarest of any token ever cataloged
from any era of American Numismatics. We’ve watched
Wisconsin Civil War Tokens for well over 50 years. Our
count for Best & Co. is just 3; While Genesee Station logs in
at 30+; Filner just a few less and Oconomowoc at 15 or so.
This is a classic rarity; possibly without peer! Nice looking
XF-45, Entombed, freshly certified as a Civil War Token by
NGC. Starting bid $9,000.
