Tea Table Hostess Guidelines

Thank you for partnering with us in ministr), to other women by being a table hostess at this year's
tea. By decorating and being a table hostess, you are the most vital part of the tea.

Set-up in The Commons
Set-up Time: The Commons: Thursday, December 4 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. (Tables must be completed on this day) Special Instructions:
Friday, December 5 at 5:15 p.m. - Meet in Room 201 for last minute instructions
Required Items:
•
1 Centerpiece or set of decorative items for center of table (maximum height 18"). Must include
candles in glass ONLY. Absolutely NO tapers, floating candles or candles not in
glass. Smokeless and odorless candles only.

Please note that we cannot provide electrical outlets for your table.
•
10 Dinner Plates used as chargers (church will provide smaller serving plates for food)
• Silvetware for 10- this would include butter or dinner knife, fork and spoon
• Tea cups and saucers
•
Please leave room on your table for dessert, water glasses, and a bread basket
2014 Christmas Candlelight Tea Hostess Guidelines
Suggested, but not required:
• Teapot (a larger teapot is best or even 2 smaller ones). We will have extra ones if needed . Please
let us know ahead of time at [email protected].
• Creamer and sugar bowl
• Napkins (white paper napkins will be avail able if desired)
• All tables will have a 120" white tablecloth on them . Diameter of table top is 7 2" . Feel free to
place your own topper over it.
• Tea cozies or tea burners to keep the wassail or water warmer longer
• Unique item or favor to add a special individual touch to your table
Provided by the Church:
The following will be in the hallway outside of The Commons.
• Wassail in large urns for you to fill your teapots. Carafes will be available if you do not have a
teapot.
• Urn of hot water for tea
• Tea bags should you have a guest who prefers tea over the wassail
• Cream and sugar
• Ice water in glasses will be pre-set on all the tables.
Tickets for Table Hostesses

A hostess may purchase individual seats for $25 or the entire table for $225 , giving a 10%
discount.
October 26 will be the deadline for hostesses to make final purchase of seats at her table before
they are available to the public for purchase.

If your head count changes and you need to return tickets, reply to the email confirmation where
you purchased your tickets to request your refund. Please note that once they are returned, they
will be made available for the public to purchase.

Ticket Sales
Tickets are $25 each and will be available online, Thursday, October 30 at www.aposdes.org/women and
in the main corridor each Sunday in November. A table hostess can still purch ase an entire table (if
available) for $225. Tickets will be on sale until we reach our seating capacity.
TabJe Icebreaker
Please have everyone introduce themselves, share where they are from, where they attend church and their
favorite thing to do at Christmas time.
Follow-up after Tea
After the tea, please throwaway all trash, pack up your dishes (should not be terribly dirty) and other
things, and take your tablecloth off and place it in specifted location.
We will have "Santa's Helpers" to help you take items to and from your car.
