Principal’s Message
This week saw the senior students attend the Netball Tournament.
Thanks to Mrs Mac and Mr Sal for volunteering their time to help out.
Here is a recount from some of the students.
On Monday the 5/9/16 the grade 3-6 students participated in a netball
tournament in Maryborough. We all played against nearby schools, they
were really hard to beat but we still tried our best.
We won two out of seven games . In the end Mungar won first place and
everyone got a certificate for participation. Thank you to the teachers and
parent helpers for taking us.

Positive Behaviour for Learning
More than half of behaviours that have been recorded on One School,
have been positive. Students are being responsible towards their work;
completing work on time, working independently and staying on task.
Students are are beig respectful; they are using kind words in the
playground and giving compliments to each other in the classroom.
Students are being safe; they are choosing safe games to play on the
tennis court, being considerate of other around them and keeping the
classroom safe as well.
Due to a small amount of minor disruptions, handball will not be played at
lunch times until the students work together to create some formal
common handball rules.
Health and Safety
All school’s in Queensland are smoking free areas. As of the 1 st
September, no one is permitted to smoking within 5 meters of the entry to
the school.
In preparation for the 130 year celebration, the staff and I have been
cleaning up and tidying up the school. I would appreciate if parents could
volunteer to help clean the cupboards in the tuckshop kitchen area.
Please see the office if you can volunteer some time between now and
the end of October.
Thanks to the volunteers who have remembered to sign in and out when
visiting the school.
Swimming
In term 4, all students P-6 will participate in swimming lessons. These
lessons will be at Maryborough Aquatic Center on Fridays from 12.30 –
1.15pm. The bus will leave at 12pm and return by 2pm.
I encourage all students to wear sun safe shirts, caps and goggles,
however it is not compulsory.
Sunscreen will be provided by the school. If your child has sunscreen
allergies, please provide your own.
Lessons will cost $5.50. An invoice for the whole term amount, will be
sent home next term. You may pay this off during the term or in one lump
sum via Bpoint. Please no cash.
