Morley’s Celebrity Chef!
The Foundation for West Hartford Public Schools is proud to have
Morley’s own Ryan Cleary as a Celebrity Chef for our annual
West Harford’s Cookin’ event onSaturday, April 1st from 6:30-9:00 in
the Town Hall.
West Hartford’s Cookin’ is the Foundation’s annual fundraiser. All
money raised supports grants awarded to teachers to implement their
creative and innovative ideas that enhance students’ education.
The theme this year is “No Foolin’, it’s a FACT!” Committee members
are
excited to uncover facts from the schools and share them
with guests. For example, did you know that the honorary chair, Town
Manager, Mr. Ronald Van Winkle, attended Duffy Elementary School’s
first Kindergarten class?
All are invited to join Ryan and other celebrity chefs as they delight you
with their signature dishes. Enjoy an evening of food sampling and fun
with live and silent auctions and a chance to Raise the Paddle for the
Foundation!

CALLING FUTURE KINDERGARTNERS
If you have (or know) a child (5 years old on
or before 1/1/18), eligible for kindergarten in Fall 2017, please call the
school office @ 233.8535. We want to add your child’s name to our list
of incoming students.

2016 Education Legislation: Public Act 16-189
We believe that it is vital for all students in West Hartford Public Schools to be able to efficiently
and effectively use digital tools that empower them in all phases of the learning process, including
research, problem solving, content creation, communication, and collaboration. We also believe
that we must be committed at all times to protecting students' privacy and providing them with a
powerful and safe educational experience. To that end, the West Hartford Public Schools follow
the legal requirements of Public Act 16-189 to promote the safety and security of all students
and staff.
In compliance with Connecticut State Law, we update online programs used within the district
that house student data. The programs may be used district-wide, in a very small number of
classrooms, or with individual students. The list will be updated each time the district enters
into a new contract where student data is housed. For more information on the specifics of

2016-2017 YEARBOOK ORDER FORM
It’s time to order your Morley School yearbook. The sale will run until Monday, March 13, 2017. The
yearbook features all of the students’ Portraits photos taken in the fall, special pages devoted to the 5th
graders, special school events, the first day of school, and more! Don’t be left out....order yours today!
Yearbooks are $18 each and checks should be made payable to Morley PTO.
You can also write a note to be featured in the Words & Wishes section. Each message is $2 and should
be 100 characters or less.
