John Cranley became the City of Cincinnati’s 69th mayor in
2013. He has dedicated himself to moving the city forward
so it becomes a center of opportunity and innovation.
Raised in Price Hill, John was infused with a deep faith and
commitment to giving back at a young age. Now John and
his wife Dena are raising their son Joseph in the city,
committed to the same ideals of hard work, service and faith.
John earned degrees from John Carroll University, Harvard
Law School and Harvard Divinity School. He serves on the

of early childhood education and community-based social
services supports her current role with community-based
efforts to address some of Cincinnati’s most stubborn
challenges—infant mortality, neighborhood health
disparities, third grade reading disparities, and the social
factors contributing to each of these issues. Dawn engages
community partners to find new ways for community
and neighborhood systems to work together to maximize
strengths and continuously improve where possible.
