KLECKSOGRAPHY
There are different ways to draw optical illusions. A funny but messy way is
“Klecksography”. This is a game that children used to play in Switzerland. Its name comes
from the German word klecks, which means inkblot. Take a piece of paper, spill some ink
on it, fold the paper and open it again. A strange pattern will appear.
The Swiss psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach used to play “Klecksography” when he was a
child. Later, when he became a psychiatrist, he invented a personality test based on his
childhood inkblots, which is called the Rorschach Inkblot Test.
We tried out “Klecksography” in class. Here are some patterns we produced and we’ll
explain briefly how we see them in the stories that we wrote based on them.

THE THREE TELETUBBY GOATS AND THE BIG CRAZY BULL
Once upon a time, there were three Teletubby goats. They didn’t have a mother because
one year ago, she forgot how to walk and she fell off the stairs. They decided to move into
another house because of the bad memory.
When they arrived at the new house, they set their things and watched TV. The news
informed them that a big crazy bull had escaped from the nearby madhouse. They were
confident that the big crazy bull would not come to their house and so they slept like logs.
But, in the middle of the night, they heard a knock on the door. It was the BIG CRAZY
BULL!
“Teletubby goats, open the door or I’ll huff and I’ll puff and blow your house down,” he
said.
“We are not just Teletubby goats, we are Super Teletubby goats. With the power of our pie
we shall beat you,” said the goats and started to throw pies on the big crazy bull.
“And I will beat you with the power of making you forget how to walk,” said the bull.
“Super Teletubby Goats, ATTACK!” shouted all the goats together and killed the big crazy
bull by making him swallow a big piece of pie. He was allergic to pie, so he fainted and the
Super Teletubby Goats returned him to the madhouse.

In the history museum of Azeroth, a land beyond the stars, there is a gold emblem of two
gnomes riding goats and fighting. An old wise wizard in this land used to say that if this
emblem was true, the gnomes were fighting to take Azeroth in their hands. They were the
two kings of it, but they had both died at the same moment and were trapped in the
emblem forever. Nobody really knows the cause but now a mighty “mage” will inspect the
case and find out what really happened. He rode a big white striped tiger. He was going to
go to the place where the true kings were fighting.
There he saw a thing no one would imagine. He saw the Dark Tower, the kingdom
of Hal’ Ashal, the great warlock. He went in, he could see nothing but walls that were
made of rock. He continued walking until he saw the first creature the Hal’Ashal had
summoned. He started fighting and he won but then all the guards of the tower came to
fight him. They were all “worgens”, i.e. big dogs standing on their two feet. He was so
scared that he almost ran away. However, he stood there and won the battle. He was
injured but he didn’t mind, he would keep on his way.
He saw a gong. The door of the next room was closed. He hit the gong. Fifty small
spiders came. He paralyzed them and threw frost breath. They were dust. He hit the gong
again. Twelve huge spiders came. He frosted the spiders and crushed them with his staff.
He hit the gong again, then there he was, Zul’malash!!! The forty-two feet spider. He tried
to frost him but he frosted only his nail. Then Zul’Malash made an earthquake. He was
almost dead. But suddenly, a “tauren” hunter came in with a dwarf warrior. The spider was
dead in a jiffy. It was the mighty “tauren Dalvzak” and the dwarf Georeg.
They continued the journey. They climbed some stairs. Up on the roof of the tower
was an undead warlock, Wal’ashal!!! He was five hundred feet tall and he was as fat as a
pig. Suddenly, he flew from the roof. Then an “OUCH !!!” was heard. His fat protected him,
so he wasn’t dead.
Dalvzak jumped and killed Hal’Ashal with his horns. But Dalvzak was dead. The two
gnome kings appeared on the roof. Suddenly, a brick came off and everybody fell. In a
second, they were all kaput.

The Tree Machine
Once upon a time, there was a Tree Machine in Ethiopia. Ethiopia is in Africa.
This tree is a shell of a snail. On the tree there is a shovel that digs the ground and a
bucket with seeds in it. There is also another shovel that takes the seeds from the
bucket and pours them into the holes. Above the first shovel, there is a saw, which
cuts the trees. Then, there are two hands that help people with their jobs.
A winter day, while the saw was cutting trees, it stopped cutting and
broke. Only the snail understood it and yelled for help. After one day, only a
man heard the yelling of the snail and ran to see what was happening. Then,
he stopped suddenly and saw the Tree Machine damaged. After one day, the
man fixed it but the Tree couldn’t use the broken part for two days and the
people were frozen.
After this event, the Tree could use the saw and it started cutting trees
again. All the people were very happy and they lived happily ever after.

Once upon a time, there was a horrible red monster. One night, as he was flying
around the city, he saw a black cat. The cat was called Black-Black-Cazablack. He
hated black cats because he though that they would bring him bad luck, so he bit him.
When he did so, something very bizarre happened! When the monster bit him, his
arms turned into webs! With these webs he could fly!
After that, noone wanted to be Black-Black-Cazablack’s friend. Everyone called
him “the crazy web-cat”! Black-Black-Cazablack was very angry and that wasn’t good.
That wasn’t good at all. From then on, every night, he tried to find the red monster.
One night, while he was trying to find the red monster, he saw a shadow behind
the building. He was curious to learn what was there. He flew towards the shadow and
he saw…the red, horrible monster! The monster was more horrible than ever!
He waited for a few minutes to see what the monster would do but the
monster didn’t do a single movement because it was… DEAD!!!
