Snippets and Snapshots of the American Civil War
Civil War Series with Dave Wege - Tuesday, October 20th at 6:30 pm
Among its many nicknames, the American Civil War has been called “the first modern war.”
New weapons, medicines, and inventions made their first appearance during the conflict.
Unfortunately, training and tactics did not always keep pace, leaving commanders to fight the new war with
old ideas, often with tragic results. Unique fighting units formed that have become stuff of legend,
Snippets and Snapshots of the American Civil War will look at these topics and more as we continue
to explore the war that United the States into one nation.
This is a free drop in program. Free refreshments will be served.

Donuts & Duct Tape
10:30 am
Do you want to play a game where
you can be the quarterback, the
running back, and the receiver all at
once? Then give flag rugby a try?
Flag rugby is a fast moving,
non-contact, running and ball
carrying game suitable for boys and
girls to play together. The
interchangeable nature of the
possession requires switching from
defense to offense in an instant and
helps to develop a wide variety of
skills. Cooperation and determination, along with individual and
collective responsibility, are key
elements in the game of flag rugby.
Come to the Library to get a
reading card to keep track of
the amount of time you spend
reading. Every time you
complete a card, turn it into
the Library for a small prize.
All the cards will be entered
into a drawing for a grand
prize on November 25th.
School age kids are invited to drop in
and join us to make a one-of-a-kind
duct tape Halloween themed creation
while enjoying a donut.
