Service Bulletin Matrix ClimbMill E-Stop Control zone sensitivity issue Effective Date: Oct. 28, 2013 Prepared by: Eric Chen Models Affected: Matrix C-5x/7x-01/02/03-F Bulletin Number NB-1311003 SYMPTOM The workout is interrupted by an abnormal “pause function”. REASON The E-Stop control zone is sensitive and being interfered with by the environment grounding of its surrounding. SOLUTION 1. There is a kit which replaces the current E-stop control zone with one containing 2 IR sensors (Part number #1000317959). Follow the installation instructions on page 3. 2. The console hardware is compatible to the old and new E-stop control zone. The software’s of both UCB and LCB should be upgraded as shown below: 7xe console GUI I/O OS Remark software version 2.0 10.2 3.27 Or above these versions Current 5x console software version S002 Or above this version 3. The ClimbMill LCB should be upgraded to S004 version or above. LCB software version S004 or above 4. The new application is available starting Nov., 2013. Attach the new rear tread set into the frame (Figure R). Figure Q Step 11: If needed, complete the LCB software upgrade for 2 IR sensor function. Figure R A. Upgrade LCB software with a LA or Premium C5x console 1. The UCB software must support ClimbMill. 2. Create software route for USB Flash Drive. :\MATRIX\FW\LCB USB drive letter LCB software route 3. Copy software (.BIN file) to LCB folder; when complete, plug the USB Flash Drive into 5x console. 4. Press “enter 8 0 0 8 enter” to start LCB software upgrade mode. ( LA 5x console ) ( LA 5x console ) ( Premium 5x console ) 5. Software will update automatically. (Note: During upgrade process, the LED screen will show information) 6. After the software installation is complete, Remove the USB and turn off the power. (Attention: Wait at least 30 sec then reboot machine) 7. Enter Manager Mode (Hold LEVEL UP and DOWN for 3 seconds). Select the “software” and check LCB software successfully loaded. 8. Enter Engineering Mode (hold LEVEL UP and DOWN for 3 seconds). Then set the “Disable Errors” setting to YES (only C class error codes show) and set the “E-Stop Switch” setting to ON. Finally, TEST the new E-stop function; put your foot upon the rear tread set to test that IR sensors will stop the machine. NOTE: Due to the old control zone wire is not connect to the LCB, when the machine is powered on or in standby mode, it will show error code 024A, so enter the engineer mode set the “Disable Errors” to ON (Class A and B error codes do not show on console). B. Upgrade LCB software with a LA or Premium C7xe console 1. The UCB software version must be above GUI L2.0 (application), IO 10.2 and OS 3.27. 2. Copy the update manager and LCB firmware files to USB Flash Drive root folder. 3. Open the “updateLCB.config” file and check content. <updatefilename> ClimbMillS004(0B04)_Release 20130325_UCB .bin</updatefilename> 4. Plug USB Flash Drive into 7xe console. Software will automatically update. (Note: During upgrade process, the LCD screen will be show upgrade information.) ( LA C7xe console ) 5. ( Premium C7xe console ) After the software installation is complete, remove the USB and turn off the power. ( Attention: Wait at least 30 sec then reboot machine ) 6. Enter Manager Mode (ENTER, 1, 0, 0, 1, ENTER). Press the “About” tab and select the “software version” to check update successfully loaded. Figure A 7. Enter Service Mode (ENTER, 3, 0, 0, 1, ENTER) and select the “Other” tab to setup the E-Stop function to ON (Figure B). Finally, TEST the new E-stop function; put your foot upon the rear tread set to test that IR sensors will stop the machine.
