Tips for Tackling TAKS
TAKS time is in March. It’s never too early to start preparing. HJS Counselor, Ms.
Pearson, offers the following suggestions for tackling the TAKS
Get a good nights sleep before test.
Maintain positive attitude before and during the test
Exercise before test. It reduces the stress.
Stay relaxed. If you feel overwhelmed, take a
few deep breaths to relieve the stress.
 Try visualization strategy. To relax the night
before and on the day of, repeat the phrase,
“This is only one of the many tests I have to
take. I will stay calm and will do my best”
