OUR Main Reception Room
A
stunning room
for a special occasion
The domed Main Reception Room is the main focal point
of the building. Complete with glass chandelier, bold stone
columns, beautiful stained glass windows and murals by
George Murray, this stunning room was originally the Council
Chamber when the venue was built in 1890.
It still maintains that charm today and is perfect for private
dinners, receptions and weddings.
The Main Reception Room is also used for pre-dinner drinks
for events in the Great Hall, to which it is adjoined, and is also
licensed for wedding ceremonies.

The Great Hall is our largest room and provides spacious,
air-conditioned accommodation, perfect for conferences,
team building days, presentations or dinner dances.
This versatile space is also where we hold most of our
Christmas parties and wedding receptions.
This later extension to the original building offers
a sophisticated audio-visual system, including a new
11 metre wide split projection screen.
We can help you with styling the space, from flowers and
chair covers, to creative lighting and decoration.
Our on-site technical team will also be on hand to assist
with the production and delivery of every detail.

Perfect for more
intimate receptions
Dominated by its charming Venetian bridge, the Members’
Room typifies the character of the building in a single
space. Originally the library, this charming room is ideal for
boardroom meetings, lunches and dinners. With discreet
audio visual support, we can accommodate theatre style
presentations. It also provides a unique backdrop for
standing receptions.
The Small Reception Room was once the presidential dining
room for the building. With its original mahogany table and
bronze fireplace, this regal and historic room is an elegant
space for lunches and dinners, boardroom meetings, training
seminars and receptions.

formal meetings, conference breakout sessions, workshop
groups and small seminars.
Bright and airy, these comfortable rooms are equipped with
plasma screens, WiFi, teleconference and video conference facilities.
With its tiered curved seating, the Council Chamber suits AGMs,
press conferences, panel discussions and interactive seminars.
This unique room provides full audio-visual capabilities with a
ceiling-mounted screen. Colourful Sri Lankan batik tapestries add
a touch of character.
With personal microphones on each desk, the Council Chamber
also has the facility to offer simultaneous translation services.

It is also a popular venue for Christmas parties,
as the restaurant boasts its own bar, dance floor and
private lounge area.
The light and modern Business Centre Lounge is perfect for
cocktail parties and networking events. Comfortable seating
and coffee tables give an informal feel to the room, while high
ceilings, tall windows and architectural features add character.
