DCP05 Reference Manual DCP05-MS60 1.7 Measurements, coordinates and files within DCP05 The measurement values of the sensor (horizontal and vertical angle plus distance) are converted into coordinates x, y, z of the Sensor Coordinate System (SCS) or the Object Coordinate System (OCS). The origin of the SCS is located in the center of the sensor (intersection point of the tilting axis with the standing axis), and the arbitrary zero position of its horizontal angle as the reference for the x-direction. The z-axis is defined by the standing axis or the compensator. The OCS is defined by a given coordinate system within the object, defined by directions of its axes x, y, and z and the location of its origin, which given by the coordinates of at least one object point. The calculated actual coordinates may be compared with the given design coordinates, and the deviations may be shown online on the display. These coordinates of both SCS and / or OCS may be stored in 3D-files. Sensor and Object Coordinate systems 2 Version 23.02.16 A.M.S. DCP05 Reference Manual DCP05-MS60 Getting started 2.1 Preparations Once the DCP05 software has been installed, prepare the instrument for measurement as per the instrument’s own guidelines. Starting procedure 1. Turn ON the device. 2. Start up the DCP05 software by selecting it from the program list. Use the numerical keys to directly select the DCP05, or use the ARROW keys to move the cursor to DCP05 and select with CONT key or ENTER key. The DCP05 is often installed under the “measurement+” – menu. 3. Info display of the DCP05 The DCP05 boots up with the following INFO WINDOW: Proceed by pressing the OK key. 4. Insert License code When prompted, insert your license code and proceed by pressing CONT. (Or use the program in the limited DEMO mode if available). 3 Vers. 23.02.16 A.M.S. DCP05 Reference Manual DCP05-MS60 5. The Main menu opens. The Main menu of DCP05 is now ready to be used. 6. Check the PCMCIA card. Insert the PCMCIA card to have access to the Design values and the memory for the measured Actual values. A note on control buttons: All control buttons may not be visible on the bottom toolbar at all times. Any ‘hidden’ functions may be viewed by toggling the Fn modifier. 4 Vers. 23.02.16 A.M.S. DCP05 Reference Manual DCP05-MS60 Display items Target Opens the Leica Target selection menu. User Create, save, and select usernames/codes (max. 10). Units Selection of unit and display resolution: mm 0.01, 0.1, 1 inch 0.001, 0.01 feet 0.0001, 0.001 Atmospheric correction Calculates a ppm-value based on actual temperature and air pressure values. I & II face measurement If activated (YES), the sensor automatically makes measurements in both faces. The results are then averaged. Nominal values in use If activated (YES), design values of a 3D-file are used with AIM function. Overwrite info If activated (YES), a warning appears before overwriting any already existing actual values. Tool info If activated (YES), information on the active targeting tool is displayed. Auto increment Automatic increment can be activated. If activated (YES), the increment affects the numerical part of a point ID: MKH11 incremented to MKH12, or 90RITH is incremented to 91RITH. The largest possible point ID contains 6 digits. Average count Selection of the number of distance measurements (1–5) to be measured and averaged. Average mode Selection between automatic or manual modes. The automatic mode calculates the average value of the number of distance measurement used. The manual mode allows the measuring of separate points, which can then be averaged. Left / Righthand Selection between the left- or right-handed coordinate system. Automatch Searches the closest point from 3D-file after measurement when activated (compares the measurement values to design values). Note: The Point/Add -function cannot be used when Automatch is enabled. 7 Vers. 23.02.16 A.M.S. The procedure gives as a result the coordinates of the centre point of the structure in the object coordinate system, as well as the direction of the actual plane on which the centre point is located. The actual plane is compared to a user-defined reference. Statistical figures are also available. The procedure is as follows: 1. Perform the instrument orientation using DOM. 2. Define the reference direction of the axes of the cylindrical object. (Select one of the coordinates axes or define the direction by measuring two points.) 3. Measure the circle points and as a result centre point of the circle is given with the statistics. 4.
