This year the Church, the Church hall and the school are joining together to make the summer
fayre a village event. It will mean the Fayre is much bigger with many more attractions than
there have been before.
We invited some members of the PTA to join us in our school council meeting to tell us about
the plans so far.
We met with; Amy who is Molly Bradshaw’s Mum
Esther who is Joshu Kibwana’s Mum and
Asia who is Suleyman and Khadija’s Mum.
They talked to us about why the school, church and village hall were joining together to make
this a big village event and the plans so far.
The church will organise a treasure hunt and an exhibition of photographs of the village
from the past.
The village hall with the ‘Mayfest’ committee will sell teas / coffee / cakes and will
organise a ‘Shadwell Bake Off’.
The school will........... - This is where the PTA need our help for ideas:

We all like making products and we all enjoy working out how much profit we have made!
Each class could select a decade and base their products on that era or something that happened
during that era.
Each class would have their own stall to sell the products at the fayre.
1960’s - The Beatles, Flower Power, The moon landing etc.
1970’s – Disney world opened, Elvis, Star wars released etc.
1980’s – Pac Man, Rubix Cube, Transformers, Slush Puppy Drinks etc.
1990’s – Gameboy, Tamagotchi, Spice Girls, Pogs, Neon, The Simpsons, Art Attack, Chokers
etc.
2000’s – Tate Modern Opened, Millennium Bridge, Millennium Bug, release of the iPod, Digital
Books, Harry Potter Books (2001 onwards) etc.
2010’s – Social Media, London Olympics, Tour de Yorkshire, Royal Wedding etc.

Please vote on the ideas so far to see which one you think is the best. You can only
choose one of the three.

This worthwhile charity helps children who have really tough lives both in the UK and in
different countries in Africa.
Friday 24th March
We decided that we would wear red clothes for the day. We would try to wear as much red
as we possibly could.
