ARP Program: Students will be

Agenda Books: Each child will receive
a homework planner that must be used
daily for each subject and signed by a
parent/guardian each night.
Parent Participation
AIS Programs: Co-teaching and push
in/pull out programs used to
successfully improve academic
performance.
Barrier-free school that services all
special needs.
Technology Program: Mobile
Computer Labs, project-based, three
full high tech classroom labs and
smart boards .
Arts Program: Band, art, Dance and
chorus programs.
Foreign Language: Students take
Spanish in all grades.

Boys Dress Code
Shirts: All-White shirts with a
collar must be worn, All–White
turtlenecks may also be worn. Tee
shirts are not acceptable. No other
colored shirt may be showing
underneath the white shirt.
Pants: Black slacks or black jeans.
Breakaways or snap pants are not
permitted.
Footwear: Sneakers or shoes may be
worn. No sandals or slippers. Socks
must be worn.
MS 137 GYM T-SHIRTS are to be
worn only as dress code on gym days.
Gym dress code is a mandatory part of
class preparation.
MANDATORY DRESS CODE POLICY
Girls Dress Code
Blouses: All-White blouse or shirt
with sleeves (not revealing and not
above the midriff). No other colored
shirt may be showing underneath the
white shirt or blouse.
Skirts: Black knee length skirt. If a
skirt is worn, opaque tights or
stockings must be worn.
No mini-skirts are permitted.
Pants: Black pants, including capris,
gauchos and jeans. Leggings are not
permitted.
Footwear: Sneakers or shoes may be
worn. No sandals. Socks must be worn.
You can purchase collared
shirts (boys and girls), gym t-shirts
and sweatshirts with our school
logo. Order forms are available in
the main office.
Boys and Girls
Outerwear: School sweatshirts
are available in Blue, Red and Black,
or you may also wear All-White or
All-Black sweaters, sweatshirts or
vests (no logos) over an all-white
top.
All-White; means no company logo
larger than two inches. For example,
the Nike “swoosh” is acceptable; a
company name written across the
shirt or outerwear is not. A design
on the back of the shirt is not
acceptable.
No Gloves, Scarves, Bandanas Or
Hats Of Any Kind Are To Be Worn In
The Building.

Extracurricular Programs
Student Government
Organization:
Students are elected to a
decision making team.
Trips and activities: Winter
and spring dances, recreational
events, grade trips, class trips
and field day.
C.H.A.M.P.S: Intramural sports
Basketball: Boys and girls
teams.
Electronic Devices
No Liquid Containers and
Bottles: due to the increased
consumption of liquids in the
school building and incidents
resulting from their usage, any
form of bottles or containers ( i.e.,
soda bottles, water bottles) are
prohibited.
Early pick-up: students are not to be
picked up after 2:00pm as this causes
an interruption to the end of the
school day. Please try to schedule all
appointments for after school hours.
According to NYCDOE
regulations:
Cellular phones, PSP, walkmans,
IPods, game boys, and other
Electronic devices are not permitted
in the school building. These items
are expensive and should be left at
home. MS 137 is not responsible for
their loss or theft. These items are
also subject to confiscation and
will only be returned to parents.
