TAFE Qld and Southbank Institute of TAFE
Bio: I am currently a Lead Vocational Teacher for TAFE Qld. I have almost 30 years
teaching from childcare, kindergarten, preschool and early primary as well as for QUT
and TAFE. I hold a Dr of Education, a Masters of Education and a Bachelor of
Teaching Early Childhood. I have experience across the public, private and community
based sectors. I have written the current assessment for ECEfS for TAFE which is
being adopted state-wide. I have two published book chapters relating to my Doctoral
studies.
Session Outline:
Sharon will present on the
“ Cycle of Planning and the Project approach”
Sharon will be discussing her Doctoral studies which focus on young children as
agents for change in education for Sustainability. In particular, She will share the
transformative project approach developed during her research.
Many examples of kindergarten children and their engagement with sustainability
issues will be shared. Practical ideas about 'how to do ECEfS' will be given. Sharon
will make reference to her two recent authored chapters as well as speak very briefly
about her current role educating future educators about ECEfS
