Summer at the back. There is no weed
growth in this part of the lake.
A bait boat is recommended when a South Westerly wind is blowing down the back

GO BACK TO TOP
Peg 3 – The Gate
The depth of water in peg 3 ranges from
8ft to 14ft and has the deepest water in
the lake. Casting to the very back of the
bay should be avoided as a submerged
tree lies across the width three quarters
of the way up.
The bottom throughout the swim is
generally silty with a few gravel patches
close to the reeds. There is no weed
growth in this part of the lake.
Fish to the overhanging trees on the left hand side & to the reeds quarter of the way
up the bay on the left.
Fish the reeds at the back on the right hand side.
Peg 4 – Corner Spot
The depth of water in peg 4 ranges from 8ft
to 10ft but the reed line at the back is not
your water and you only have a 25 yard
maximum range. There is no weed growth
in this part of the lake.
Peg 4 is generally regarded as a pike peg as
its very tight either side, unless you know the
anglers in pegs 3 and 5.
The bottom throughout the swim is generally silty with patch of lilies to the right in
Summer. Fish out in front to a 25-yard maximum range.
GO BACK TO TOP
Pegs 5 to 11
Peg 5 – The Funnel
The depth of water in peg 5 ranges from 10ft
to 12ft. Casting to the back reed lines
produces fish but the main channel should
not be ignored.
The bottom throughout the swim is generally
silty with a few gravel patches close to the
reeds.
There is no weed growth in this part of the lake.
Fish to the back left hand and middle reed line.
Fish the reeds on the right hand side.
Fish the middle deep channel.
Peg 6 – The Reeds
The depth of water in peg 6 ranges from 8ft to
12ft.
The bottom is silty out in front, which can be
productive if a variation in depth is located.
The edges of the bay and into the bay are
well worth a try.
Peg 7 – The Alders
The depth of water in peg 7 ranges between
8ft to 12ft and the bottom is silty out in front.
The corner of the far reed line and the back
tree line are productive areas and Zigs might

part of the lake.
GO BACK TO TOP
Peg 8 – Pipe Swim
Peg 8a – The (old) Pier
The depth of water in both of these swims
varies between 8ft and 10ft. The far reed line
is an obvious target.

areas.
Zigs are also worth a try.
Peg 9 – Armchair
The depth of water in peg 9 varies between
8ft to 10ft.
The far reed line is a target and look for silty
channels & depth variations in front.
Zigs are also worth a try.
Peg 10 – Little Point
The depth of water in peg 10 averages 8ft/
9ft.
A relatively comfortable cast to the far reed
lined margin can achieve good results and

GO BACK TO TOP

Finding the deepest areas of the swim can
hold the key to success.
Peg 13 – Ambush Point
The depth of water in peg 13 varies between
6ft to 10ft.
Try to locate gravel areas within the 60-yard

two main arms.
GO BACK TO TOP

the 5ft mark.
Fanning the rods out to various distances can
help to produce feeding fish.
There are also plenty of gravel areas to fish
amongst in this swim.
Peg 16 – Small Willow
The depth of water in peg 16 is mostly around
the 5ft mark.
As with Peg 15, fanning the rods out to

GO BACK TO TOP

small gravelly areas in this swim.
Fishing tight to the weed beds can produce

The margins of the swim can produce as fish
move up and down the shallow arm of the
lake.
Surface fishing is also worth a try if fish are
present.

in the Summer months.

out amongst low lying weed.
Peg 27 – Flag Pole
The depth of water in peg 27 varies between
4ft to 6ft.
Flagpole is a spacious double swim with
