Lesson Overview:
Students will watch a PowerPoint Presentation about Perspective and then will creative a two-point perspective,
fantasy world.
Goals:
-To gain an understanding of the history and method of
drawing perspective
- To practice drawing an image with perspective
Materials:
-paper or sketchbook
-Pencils and erasers
-Sharpie or black marker
The Lesson
Introducion: STATING OBJECTIVE (Why, What, How, What?):
Why? -To gain an understanding of the history and method of drawing perspective
What? Presentation about Perspective
How? Practice drawing a fantasy world using two-point perspective.
Socratic Questions: Questions to ask during the lesson:
-Is perspective always necessary?
-paint or watercolors

perform a task:
Students are...: What students will be doing after I do a
task or prompt:
1) Teacher will present a PowerPoint pressentation on
the topic of Perspective
1) Students watch presentation
2) Teacher will ask students “Is perspective always
necessary?”
-comment/thankyou/agree/disagree to keep conversation going
-if students need time to think, have them quick-write
then share thoughts with a partner.
2) Students engage in discussion
3) Teacher hands out assignment: Draw a perspective
fantasy world.
3) students collect materials and take assignment and
put in sketchbook
Guidelines:
Create a fantasy city using two-point perspective!
Sketch out in pencil first.
Add forms and details to create your city.
Outline with black sharpie marker.
Paint with watercolor, tempra or pencil crayon to finish
your city.
Must be on 11x17 paper. We will mount on black
poster board when completed. Be sure to have your
full name and block on the back of the black paper.

4) Students will work on assignment for remainder of
class.
Closure:
Teacher floats around the room and helps students.
10 minutes before bell teacher asks students to stop
and to gallery walk clock-wise in silence to look at
each others work.
