READING
MATH
We will continue with the story “Owen
and Mzee,” working on the suffixes –ed
and –ly, and comparing and
contrasting.
We continued with multiplying fractions
by whole numbers and worked on
converting gallons into quarts, pints,
and cups. Ask your child how many
cups are in a pint and what unit
fraction 5/6 is a multiple of.
In Language Arts, we will continue
working on placing commas in
sentences. Ask your child where to
place commas when you are addressing
a person.
Congratulations to Nicholas for being Fernway Falcon! SCIENCE
SOCIAL STUDIES
We set up an experiment to investigate
evaporation and melting. Ask your
child what evaporation means.
We learned about the different natural
resources in the West, and how they
were used. We finished this chapter
and will be testing next week. The
students received a study guide on
Friday.
