English
1. PARAGRAPH WRITING
Write a paragraph of about 100 words one the following topics:
Roll no 1-4:- A school of my dreams.
Roll no 5-8: Importance of Books.
Roll no 9-12: Life in a big city.
Roll no 13-16: Junk food is harmful.
Roll no 17-20: My first experience of using a computer.
2. NEWSPAPER READING
You must read the newspaper daily. It will broaden your outlook and develop your language
skills. Cultivate this habit during your vacation and engage yourself in one of the following
activities:
Roll no 1-7: Find meanings of 3 new words daily for two weeks. You should make sentences using
30 new words.
Roll no 8-14: Be a journalist and write about your imaginary meeting with any famous
actor/actress/politician/author. You may include a short interview with the celebrity.
Roll no 15-20: Make a collage of News headlines. Give any Shape and beautify it. Paste cuttings of
any one News headlines of each day along with the day and the date.
3. READING BOOKS
Books are not lifeless papers. They are lighthouses erected in the great sea of time. You can read
the following books and write a paragraph about the character that you did not like in the book.
Give your reasons for it.
Roll no 1-5: Panchatantra Stories in English
Roll no 6-10: Malgudi Days by R.K.Narayan
Roll no 11-15: The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
Roll no 16-20: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
All students: Make a beautiful bookmark for your Literature reader. Decorate it and write a famous
quotation by a well know poet or author.

ATTEMPT ANY 2:
1. Fossil Imprint
Fossils are the remains or traces of dead plants and animals that get embedded on
solid surfaces like rocks. These solid surfaces are then taken to the Lab. where they
are put to various tests. These tests help us to know the exact time period when those
plant and animal were alive. Try making a fossil imprint
You will need wet clay, a fallen leaf / flower / plasticine toys and so on.
Step 1: Take wet clay and press into it rectangular shape.
Step 2: Take the leaf and press it on the clay surface to create an impression.
Step 3: Gently remove the leaf and observe the pattern on the clay.
A fossil imprint is ready!
2. Visit your neighbors (minimum 2 hailing from different regions of the country) –
Find out about diversity in their customs and traditions, festivals that they celebrate,
eating habits and their cultural aspects.
3. Interview an elderly person to find out about the Home remedies, practices which
were considered a taboo, their general beliefs about the changes that have happened
in the society and in the system of education.
4. Read stories (any one from two different parts of India), identify the moral value
that it brings forth. Mention how the value taught is relevant to the present times.
Mention how you can imbibe the value in your life through an example.

SCIENCE
1. Draw a chart showing methods of separation of various mixtures (any one) OR
parts of a flower (Refer to page no.79)
2. Sow a seed in a pot. Water the pot everyday and write the name of the plant and
your observations. Bring the pot to the school.
3. Write a report on the harmful and useful effects of heat.
4. Make a report on the adaptations in the following: cactus plant, lotus, polar bear,
penguin, camel.
5. Raj got his leg fractured while playing football and the doctor advised him rest for
2 months as it was a multiple fracture. Help him to find the number of bones in the
following parts of the body: skull, backbone, hips, shoulder, knee, fingers and legs.
Also, name the type of joint found in each part.
Note: Question No.3, 4 & 5 to be done on loose sheets in a separate file.

Write any 15 –er and –ir ending verbs (with the help of dictionary) and conjugate
them.
