spell asana, mariachi, and corpuscle. Even
though he got to spell only 3 words the
whole spelling bee took up to 6 hours. Matthew was number 111, so he had to wait 2

of cool facts!
Talent Show
Congratulations to all
the performers who performed for the talent show on
February 25, 2011. Each performer was remarkable. Performers danced, sang, performed magic tricks, did cultural dances and played in-
hours before his first word! While he was
struments. Also congratula-
sitting, he was nervous, because if he mis-
tions to the teacher who
spells a word, he would feel embarrassed.

Friday, February 11 was Movie Night at
Meadowland! There were popcorn and water
bottles, provided by the P.T.O. Thanks, P.T.O.!
Oh yeah, and there were students, too--- so
many that I couldn’t count them! And to make
things better, the movie was “Toy Story 3”!
Families looked very comfy on their blankets.
What a fun night!

Happy birthday, Dr. Seuss!

If you like interesting facts
about the planets, cars, sports, and lots
more, you should read The Guinness Book
of World Records. It even shows animal
records, from slowest to fastest. These
books are not only fun to read, they are
educational, too!
school...except Nick’s in a wheelchair. And he’s worried! Will the
other kids think he’s weird? Will
they want to be friends? This is a
warm story about loneliness, tolerance, and overcoming fear.
Wow! Second graders “went”

Phobias
Lachanophobia is the fear of
vegetables.
There are tons of rainforests,
Inside are so many nests.
Flowers surround it,
It’s a beautiful place to sit.
The rain feels like lemon drops,
But not until the rain stops.
Pedophobia is the fear of children.
Logophobia is the fear of
words.
Panophobia is the fear of
everything.
Nomatophobia is the fear of
names.

March is ....
Animals there are really nice,
In the rainforest there aren’t any lice.
The weather at night is just right.
Everybody is sleeping, nobody will
fight.
You should go there someday,
But it is very far away.

ASK CHARGER ADVICE COLUMN
Emily Moore
Dear Charger,
I want to make a project for the science fair,
but I am afraid it will be too hard. What can
I do?

A third grader
Dear Charger,
A kid on my street is picking on me. He’s
calling me names. Is that bullying?
Student
Dear third grader,
Dear Student,
Look on the internet for ideas. Ask a teacher
for help. Ask another adult. Work with a
partner. Have a plan!
Yes, that is bullying! Tell an adult right
away.

I am one of the
kindergarten teachers.
Thank you, Natasha (3rd grade) for this Word Search!
Kindergarten is great fun. We have
no class clowns because ALL of our
students are hilarious! We learn
about patterns, maps, and nocturnal
animals. I like kindergarten, because
I want to help children learn. Their
favorite subject is math. We sing
and dance in class. I play the piano,
flute, and guitar. Sadly my piano is
too big to bring to school, but I
might play the flute and guitar now
and then.

Puppy Love
Once upon a time, there was a dog. The dog was
named Cassie, she was a princess. She would always wear
pink. It was her favorite color. She was stuck outside on the
deck until a prince named Rollie came and showed her the
way to the doggie door in the giant doggie castle that they
lived in. The doggie king named Reeses said, “Who’s that
good looking prince that you were with?”
“His name was Rollie and he seems to like me. The king’s
daughter cannot see a prince until he saves her,” said
Reeses. “Well too bad,” said Cassie.
“Nobody talks back to me! Go to the top of the tower
young lady.” Then Reeses’ wife came and asked, “What is
that crying sound?” Reeses said, “I sent Cassie to the top of
the tower.” But when he said that, he heard cheering. Then
he looked outside and saw Rollie saving Cassie. After that
Cassie and Rollie got married, because Rollie saved Cassie.
Then they lived happily ever after.
