GOBLES SNOWMAN FESTIVAL - 2ND ANNUAL th January 16 through January 26th We are urging everyone in the Gobles area to build and display a Snowman in their front yard. The Snowman can be made of Snow, Wood or other building material, or Inflatable. Pictures of your creation are welcome at [email protected]. If you would like to have your Snowman entered into the judging to be eligible for a Snowman Festival Plaque, call, email, or drop off your entry. Entries should contain your name and address. The (flexible) boundaries for prize entry are from downtown Gobles: North to CR 390 South to M-43 West to D-Avenue/Mill Lake Road junction East to Kendall area Snowman building starts: Thursday, January 16th at 8 a.m Snowman building stops: Friday January 24th at 6 p.m. Awards Ceremony is Sunday, January 26th at 2 p.m. at Gobles Park Plaques will be awarded in the following categories: Best Snowman – Sponsored by “The Memory of Kelli” Tallest Snowman – Sponsored by “Forrest Automotive” Best Dressed Snowman - Sponsored by “Diane Dittlinger-Mulder” Funniest Snowman - Sponsored by “Tammy Gravatt-Rynd” Best School Spirit – Sponsored by “Gobles United Methodist Church” Scariest Snowman – Sponsored by “Village Market” Best Snow Sculpture – Sponsored by “Del’s Well” No-Snow Snowman - Snowman is made out of material besides snow, that is wood, cardboard, styrofoam, etc. inflatables are allowed (but preference will be given to home made first) Sponsored by “Klassic Arcade of Gobles” Rules: Building dates January 16th-24th. You may enter as often as you wish. Must be within defined boundaries to be eligible. (Some flexibility given) Judges will place your entry into appropriate category. Snow entry may be judged in more than one category, but can only win in one. We will reschedule if no Snow.
