Explorer
Today’s Explorer got a
bit lost on his travels.
Christopher Columbus
was trying to travel to
China to find riches. He
thought he could travel
straight to China by
crossing the Atlantic
Ocean. But the earth
was much bigger than
he thought and the
Americas were between
Europe and China.
He landed in the
Bahamas in 1492 and
made 3 more voyages
to the Americas.
He died thinking he had
found a shortcut to Asia
and never knew that he
had discovered America!
Safari Day!
After a spectacular
entrance, North & South
got lost again and ended
up on Safari. You joined
in too with animal
masks and some great
animal costumes. North
and South aren’t very
good at exploring but
they have created fab
sound effects for their
teams!
The singing this year is
amazing and you seem
to love our new songs —
Alive and 5,000 men.
Some of the boys have
even formed their own
dance group!
You had great fun
decorating your T-Shirts
(some of them got a bit
messy!) and we’re
looking forward to
seeing your snow
mobiles tomorrow.
The Ice Adventure
In today’s episode of The Ice Adventure, the 4
adventurers only have a radio and a pair of skis.
Great Scott told them that the rest of the equipment
had fallen down a crack in the ice.
They can’t carry on with the expedition without the
right equipment. Thankfully they were able to
contact the Chief on the radio who gave them
directions to a Swedish store which had everything
they needed, even meatballs! Helen Skelter saved
the day by skiing there for supplies.
Why can’t the others work out that Great Scott is
trying to ruin the expedition? Will he succeed or will
they be able to deliver the vital message? Is that
moustache real? (we don’t think so!)
You are so creative and
making things very hard
for the judges. There’s
lots of prizes still to be
won so keep trying all
the competitions.
There was more fun in
the Base Training Game
and things got very wet
in Wheel of Misfortune.
Sticky Feet, Plate of
Fate, Firing Squad—
what next for the Leader
from the losing team?
There was great fun
again in the games
and lots of laughs in
today’s episode of The
Ice Adventure —
things don’t seem to
go to plan. You seem
to like booing Great
Scott and his dodgy
moustache.

Never Too Near Or Far
Today we heard about Philip and
how we can be part of God’s
expedition wherever we are.
Philip went far away to Samaria
and told people all about Jesus.
People were pleased to hear
about Jesus.
God sent Philip to Samaria
where he was able to carry on
telling people about Jesus. One
day as he was travelling he met
an important Ethiopian official
who was sitting in his carriage
reading from the Bible. Philip
explained to him all about Jesus
and how he died on the cross so
we can be forgiven for all the
things we have done wrong.
We can be part of
God’s Big Expedition
wherever we are.
The bible calls this sin and God
will forgive us if we are sorry.
Philip helped the Ethiopian to
understand all about Jesus and
he ordered the chariot to be
stopped so he could be baptised
in the river.
Philip went on to many other
places telling people about Jesus.
God has a plan for us wherever
we are and he wants us all to
share the good news of Jesus.
