Dear Parent,
We will continue with our theme, Environments. We will have a closer look of what animals and plants
lives in a rainforest.
English
(Week 8)
Listening and Speaking. We will be listening to children speaking about their
weekend news.
Reading. Class book: What pet should I get? Dr Seus.
Listen to your child’s daily reading and sign the reading card. Reading
assessment: Prepare your child on the following pages in their Cambridge Global
English learner book.


Phonics: ‘ai’ (rain, snail) and ‘j’ sound (jackal, jump).
Phonics assessment on beginning sounds.
Example:
Beginning sound: F/f End sound: sh
Spelling: Jolly Phonics Word book. Pg. 46 and 47 no. 1-33
Writing: We will focus on our handwriting this week.

Counting: Count in 2’s, 5’s, 10’s to 100.
Problem solving with money: I have 10dhs. I spend 5dhs. How much money do
I have left?
Finding the difference by using a number line. What is the difference between
5 and 7
Assessment: Number recognition between 0-100
Science
(Week 8)
We will continue with our theme this week: Environments. The Rainforest will
be our next environment of discussion. We will discuss some animals and plants
that lives in these habitats.

Step 4: Discuss and explain this concept with your child.
Hand in your Science project on Sunday 26 February. You had 3 weeks to
complete the project. Late projects will be recorded and this will affect
your child’s mark.
