Terms and Conditions
This section is designed to help you make the most of the RACV Golf Membership program by providing you
with an easy to read guide to the terms and conditions applicable to the RACV Golf Membership program. We
suggest you keep this document in a safe place; that way whenever you wish to access the benefits that the
RACV Golf Membership program provides you will have the necessary information on hand.
This section contains the terms and conditions of the RACV Golf Membership program. From time to
time, RACV may make changes to these terms and conditions in order to respond to changes in
legislation or other factors. Any such changes will be notified to members of RACV Golf
Membership using appropriate means of notification as determined by RACV.
Words defined in the Glossary in section 10 have the meaning given there when they appear in these Terms
and Conditions, unless the context otherwise requires.
1. Eligibility
1.1. Subject to these Terms and Conditions, the RACV Golf Membership program is available to Members of
Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV) Limited ACN 004 060 833 (RACV) and other natural persons who
are non members of RACV.
1.2. A non-member of RACV who joins RACV Golf Membership will become a Relationship Member of RACV.
1.3. Subject to these terms and conditions, only natural persons are eligible to become a member of RACV
Golf Membership upon acceptance by RACV in its sole discretion of the person’s RACV Golf Membership
Application Form and payment of the Annual Subscription Fee.
1.4. RACV reserves the right to refuse RACV Golf Membership applications/applicants in its absolute
discretion without giving reasons.
2. Application and annual subscription fee
2.1. Applications to become a member of RACV Golf Membership can be made online through
RACV Golf Membership’s Application Form at www.racv.com.au/golf, copies of which are available at any
RACV Shop or RACV Golf Course. RACV Golf Membership can also be purchased by calling 13 RACV or
visiting an RACV shop.
2.2. An Annual Subscription Fee is payable upon application to RACV Golf Membership.
2.3. Members of RACV Golf Membership program will automatically have their RACV Golf Membership
program renew at the end of each 12 month period from the date of acceptance for RACV Golf Membership,
unless RACV receives written notice 21 days prior to renewal that the member of RACV Golf Membership
program wishes to cancel their membership. The Annual Subscription Fee will become due and payable 30
days prior to the date of renewal.
3. Proof of identity
3.1. Members of RACV Golf Membership program must provide satisfactory proof of identification and proof of
membership of RACV Golf Membership through presentation of their RACV Golf Membership identification
card or key tag upon seeking to utilise or redeem any of the features or benefits of RACV Golf Membership,
including upon arrival at the Participating Golf Clubs or RACV Golf Courses when using RACV Golf
Membership. The RACV Golf Membership will be validated at the point of utilisation or redemption.
3.2. Eligibility to receive RACV Golf Membership features or benefits may also be verified by the RACV Golf
Course or Participating Golf Course over the phone.
3.3. If the RACV Golf Membership Annual Subscription Fee remains unpaid, and the member of RACV Golf
Membership utilises or redeems any of the features or benefits of the RACV Golf Membership during the
period in which the Annual Subscription Fee remains unpaid, a service surcharge may apply.
4. RACV Golf Membership program features & benefits
4.1. Members of RACV Golf Membership program are entitled to receive:
4.1.1. subject to these Terms and Conditions, access to Participating Golf Clubs and RACV Golf
Courses (subject to the conditions of each property);
4.1.2. a discount and a discount for up to 3 guests on the daily rate of green fees for the Participating Golf
Club (but not for guests who are not RACV Members at RACV Golf Courses);
4.1.3. an RACV Golf Membership card or key tag, which must be presented to the Participating Golf Club or
RACV Golf Membership Course when redeeming or utilising RACV Golf Membership benefits or features;
4.1.4. one free round of golf (9 or 18 holes) per 11 annum at each of the RACV Golf Courses;
4.1.5. two half-price rounds of golf (9 or 18 holes) per annum at each of the RACV Golf Courses;
4.1.8. subject to these Terms and Conditions, opportunities to establish and maintain a Golf Link handicap;
4.1.9. subject to these Terms and Conditions, opportunities for members of RACV Golf Membership program
to participate for a fee in exclusive RACV Golf Membership events as organised and at the sole discretion of
RACV as determined from time to time;
4.1.10. access to a dedicated RACV Golf Membership section on racv.com.au;
4.1.11. a copy of the RACV Golf Membership e-newsletter;
4.1.12. any other discounts or exclusive benefits as may be provided at the sole discretion of a Participating
Golf Club or RACV Golf Courses to members of RACV Golf Membership from time to time.
4.2. For the avoidance of doubt, RACV Golf Membership does not entitle the member of RACV Golf
Membership to full membership of the Participating Golf Courses and RACV Golf Courses. Please also refer
to the website at racv.com.au/ golf for a full list of various feature and benefit exclusions, as may apply from
time to time at the sole discretion of the Participating Golf Clubs and RACV Golf Courses.
4.3. For the avoidance of doubt, guests who are not RACV Members must pay the standard green fee rate at
RACV Golf Courses.
5. Golf Link handicap
5.1. Subject to these Terms and Conditions, members of RACV Golf Membership are entitled to establish and
maintain a Golf Link handicap as follows:
5.1.1. Members of RACV Golf Membership must submit scorecards with the Golf Link application form
attested by an Approved Marker to RACV Golf Membership from three rounds of golf (between 9 and 18
holes) at a recognised Australian golf course with either an Australian 12 Course Rating (ACR) or Calculated
Course Rating (CCR). The application form with the three signed cards is to be returned to: RACV Golf
Membership Member & Motoring Services Level 2, 550 Princes Hwy Noble Park North Victoria 3174 Australia
5.1.2. each scorecard must indicate the ACR or AWCR if no Calculated Course Rating is available; The ACR/
AWCR or CCR is located on the golf scorecard.
5.1.3. following the submission of the three scorecards with the Golf Link application form, each scorecard will
be analysed and adjusted if necessary such that the highest score for any given hole is not more than three
over par (adjusted score). Adjustments will only be made to the first three scorecards;
5.1.4. once the adjusted score is finalised, the difference between the adjusted score and the Calculated
Course Rating or Australian Course Rating of each scorecard is averaged to become the Member’s RACV
Golf Membership Australian Handicap (0.5 rounded up to the nearest whole number); and
5.1.5. the maximum Australian Handicap available for members of RACV Golf Membership is 36 for men and
45 for women.
6. Service availability & conditions
6.1. Members of RACV Golf Membership must abide by all conditions of the Participating Golf Clubs and the
RACV Golf Courses as those conditions stand from time to time, including and without limitation:
6.1.1. the dress code of the, Participating Golf Club or the RACV Golf Course; and
6.1.2. the member rules and local etiquette of the Participating Golf Club or the RACV Golf Course.
6.2. Any golf bookings by members of RACV Golf Membership at Participating Golf Clubs or RACV Golf
Course bookings are subject to availability.
6.3. Members of RACV Golf Membership are excluded from booking at Participating Golf Clubs or RACV Golf
Courses during competition or tournament events, as determined at the sole discretion of the Participating
Golf Club or RACV Golf Course from time to time.
6.4. The redemption of discount vouchers at RACV Golf Courses is subject to availability and may be
restricted to allocations on specific days. Members of RACV Golf Membership must mention they are
redeeming this discount voucher at the time of booking.
7. Variation, amendment or termination
7.1. The Terms and Conditions of RACV Golf Membership or any part there of may be varied, amended or
terminated from time to time by notice to the member of RACV Golf Membership as follows:
7.1.1. 30 days written notice to the member of RACV Golf Membership in case of material variation or
amendment where the material variation or amendment has a serious detrimental effect on the RACV Golf
Membership; and
7.1.2. 30 days written notice to the member of RACV Golf Membership in case of termination.
7.1.3. Changes to Participating Golf Clubs and other program features & benefits will be communicated to
members of RACV Golf Membership via www.racv.com.au/golf
8. Transfer, cancellation and refunds
8.1. An RACV Golf Membership cannot be transferred or assigned by the member of RACV Golf Membership
to any other person.
8.2. The member of RACV Golf Membership may cancel their RACV Golf Membership at any time by notifying
RACV by telephone, mail or at any RACV Shop.
8.3. RACV may cancel the participation in the RACV Golf Membership program immediately and without
penalty:
8.3.1. where, in the reasonable opinion of RACV, the member of RACV Golf Membership has breached these
Terms and Conditions and the breach has not been remedied within 21 days or cannot be remedied;
8.3.2. where, in the reasonable opinion of RACV, the member of RACV Golf Membership has acted in a
manner that is inappropriate, improper, hostile, threatening, abusive or dangerous; or
8.3.3. at RACV’s sole discretion, without cause.
8.4 Except as expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions, the member of RACV Golf Membership is not
entitled to a refund of the Annual Subscription Fee upon cancellation of their membership of RACV Golf
Membership.
9. General conditions, exclusions and limitations
9.1. RACV will not be liable for any failure or delay in providing any of the benefits or features of RACV Golf
Membership, either in whole or part.
9.2. To the extent permitted by the law, RACV will not be liable to any person or any indirect, special or
consequential loss or damage in connection with the RACV Golf Membership or utilisation or redemption of
any RACV Golf Membership benefits or features, whether in contract, tort (including negligence),
statute or otherwise.
9.3. Should RACV incur any liability to any person for any loss in connection with RACV Golf Membership or
utilisation or redemption of any RACV Golf Membership benefits or features, that liability will be limited to
$200.
9.4. A member of RACV Golf Membership has 14 days from the date of purchasing or paying the annual
renewal of RACV Golf Membership to cancel their RACV Golf Membership and will be entitled to a refund of
the Annual Subscription Fee if no RACV Golf Membership benefits or features have been utilised or
redeemed.
9.5. Any prices quoted in these Terms and Conditions are inclusive of GST.
10. Player insurance
Golfers Personal Insurance Scheme covers:
- Personal liability for third party personal injury or damage to property - up to $20,000,000
- Loss or damage to golf clubs and other sporting equipment
- up to $4,000
- Personal accident for defined minor injuries and emergency transport
- up to $2,000 and for death or permanent disablement
- up to $100,000 (other scheduled benefits for lesser injuries).
- Weekly loss of income (excess 14 days)
- up to $500.

11. Glossary
A member of RACV Golf Membership means a natural person who is a current member of the RACV Golf
Membership Program. * RACV Years of Membership Benefit discount will apply to eligible RACV Members.
The Annual RACV Golf Membership Subscription Fee may be subject to change without notice and at the sole
discretion of RACV.
A Relationship Member is a member of RACV with a renewable product other than RACV Emergency
Roadside Assistance or RACV Club membership.
Adjusted Score On submission of the scorecards, each card is analysed and adjusted (if necessary) so that
the worst score for any given hole is not more than 3 over par (eg. triple bogey). Thus if a player returned a
score of 9 or more on a par 5 hole, the score is adjusted to an 8. It should be noted that this adjustment is only
made to a player’s initial three cards.
Approved Marker means a golfer at a golf club or RACV Golf Course who holds either a men or women’s
Australian Handicap.
Australian Course Rating (ACR) The Australian Course Rating System indicates that the ACR is the
“hypothetical score that a scratch golfer should have on a course when playing to his handicap in ideal
conditions.” Essentially the ACR is a numerical figure which reflects the degree of difficulty of a course. It is not
related to the par of a course but is jointly calculated on the overall length and assessed difficulty of a course.
Calculated Course Rating (CCR) The Calculated Course Rating or CCR was introduced as part of the
Australian Course Rating System to create a more statistically accurate way of assessing course difficulty
following a competition round from a golf club. Essentially, it is a figure (calculated by the person so authorised
by the Club Committee or by Golf Link) that reflects the playing conditions of each competition round. The
CCR is then utilised for the subsequent handicapping of players within a competition field.
Golf Link is the central handicapping system, devised by Golf Australia to centrally process scores for the
National Handicapping System. Clubs who are connected to the system send competition scores to the
central server for CCR and Handicap calculation. All data on the system is submitted by the clubs for Golf Link
to process.
Participating Golf Club means any golf course that has signed an agreement with RACV, to offer members
of RACV Golf Membership access to play at the course and discounted green fees. A list of these courses is
displayed on the RACV website www.racv.com.au/golf
RACV Golf Course means: 1. RACV Cape Schanck; 2. RACV Royal Pines; 3. RACV Goldfields; 4. RACV
Torquay and 5. RACV Healesville Country Club.
