Work and edit a shared document online with Mendeley. Mendeley Word plug-in (Cite-O-Matic) does not work with Google Drive or Word Online (available via LISAM and Office 365), but there are other ways to insert references from Mendeley to these programs. Word Online You can open Word Online document in MS Word on your computer and insert references from your Mendeley library and then upload the document to Word Online again. You can then continue to add references into the document, if you download it again to MS Word on your computer. Google Drive You can open Google Drive document in MS Word on your computer and insert references from your Mendeley library and then upload the document to Google Drive again. However, you cannot continue to add references into the document if you download it again for MS Word on your computer. The reason for this is that the Mendeley code has been removed from the document. Conclusion: Try these alternatives to work and edit a shared document online with Mendeley: a) Use Word online (available via Lisam) rather than Google drive if you want to work with Mendeley. b) If you prefer to use Google drive, we suggest that you add all the references manually in your text (preferably with an author-year style such as APA or Harvard). You then create a bibliography in Mendeley that you then paste at the end of your text document. c) ProQuest Flow is another reference management software that can be used with Google drive. It´s a free (If you´re a student or employee at any university) and web-based program. To connect ProQuest Flow with Google drive, you need to download a ProQuest Flow add-on from the add-on menu in your Google drive document. Linköping University Library offers no support or training in ProQuest Flow, any questions about this program please visit ProQuest help website for Flow.
