//Ruk'oxomanik// is literally, 'his echo'. The sense of descendants being one's replacement, substitute, or
recurrence is seen in other metaphors in Kaqchikel nujotay, nuwoton "my regrowth, my bud", nujalol, nuk'exol "my
exchange, my interchange", wetal, nutzijel "my sign, my saying". Here the idea of the speaker/leader's repetition
or descendent appears to extend the verbal metaphor of speaking for a people as leading them, hence, "his echo".

^The H-oll suffix like //-Vn// seems to mirror the antipassive affix in form, but can be used with fully
transitive forms in an aspectual manner. It forms incompletives, or duratives.
6
//Malaraqan// may be parsible in different ways. It could be a shortened form of ruma la raq'dn "because of
the leg". Just as other body parts refer figuratively to positions, cargos, of responsibility, this may be a title or a
name.
7
The phrase xa loq' is recorded in Coto (p. 434) as "in vain".
