Page 4 Newsletter Title Drama Toolbox brought to you by the Read-a-Thon At the beginning of the school year, 91 students participated in the first annual Read-a-thon reading 165,899 minutes and raising $6,184.00. Half of the proceeds raised went to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation which provides literacy support for Indigenous communities. The other half went to the English department. With this money, we decided to celebrate the students’ efforts and had a special event. We organized a drama incursions for CP to CM2 with Drama Toolbox. A wonderful presenter named Melinda came to the school over a period of three days and held workshops with all the students. CP experienced the wild world of minibeasts. CE retold the Aboriginal tale of Tiddalick the Frog, and CM acted out different sustainability dilemmas that we face today. The students truly enjoyed themselves and the teachers were blown away with the quality of the presenter and of the drama experience. Here are some photos of the wonderful event. Hopefully next year we can repeat this unforgettable experience!
